Another one!?
Kathleen Anderson
ANOTHER PROPERTY TAX INCREASE! After Nearly 15% Last Year, the SLCo Mayor Wants Another 13.5%.
That’s two large increases back to back. Combined, these tax increases put the county’s share roughly 40% higher than it was in 2018.
Meanwhile, the Mayor’s office still has 3 Deputy Mayors and 3 Associate Deputy Mayors. She’s done nothing to cut that bloat.
And if your water comes from Salt Lake Public Utilities, your water and sewer rates are going up again, too, to cover their $600+ million debt.
Families and small businesses are already stretched.
This isn’t sustainable.
Enough.
I’m Kathleen Anderson, and I’m running for Salt Lake County Council at Large Seat A.
Not too long ago, Salt Lake was cleaner, safer, and more affordable. Today, our roads are in poor shape, construction drags on, crime is up, and far too many parks and public spaces show neglect and misuse.
Some say this is just what happens when a population grows. I reject that.
The problem isn’t that we aren’t taxing enough. The problem is a failure to enforce laws, coupled with poor leadership and bloated bureaucracy.
Raising taxes doesn’t fix those things - better priorities, hard work, and real accountability do.
I believe we can do better. We deserve better. I’m running so that my kids (and yours) can raise their families here, too - in a Salt Lake that is still clean, safe, and within reach. A Salt Lake like it used to be.
Better is on the ballot.
