Congrats to our CCHS Robotics Team!

They received a $5,000 TVA STEM Robotics Award, sponsored by TVA and BVI and administered by the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network.

The Laker Robotics team competes annually in local and statewide competitions against other high schools in numerous fields of robotics.

The Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN), in partnership with Battelle Education, continues to invest in the future of STEM learning by providing robotics grant opportunities that enhance hands-on learning experiences for students. Through these grants, schools are able to expand robotics programs, purchase equipment, and create opportunities for students to develop critical skills in engineering, coding, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation. TSIN's mission is to strengthen STEM education across the region and prepare students for success in high-demand careers while fostering the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders.

The Calloway County High School FFA Chapter had another tremendous week at the Kentucky State Fair. On Tuesday, the chapter took a trailer of exhibits full of student-grown projects, and on Wednesday the chapter took a bus of 14 students to compete against 1500 FFA members from across the state of Kentucky. In each event Calloway competed in, the chapter placed in the top five in the state! Here are the highlights:

State Champion Seed Identification Mason Falwell
State Champion Burley Crop Dakotah Pittman
State Runner-up Wildlife Team of DJ Hinson, Japheth Miller, Bella Norsworthy, and Emma Van Rooy

3rd Place State Agronomy Team of Memphis Bray, Emerson Herndon, Jaylee McLeod, and Grayson Roberts
4th Place State Auctioneer Colton Brooks
4th Place Corn Production Exhibit of Walker Bell, Colson Crouch, Evan Falwell, Mason Falwell, Cash Pittman, Dakotah Pittman

Thanks for the continued support of our chapter members! Special thanks to the parents, teachers, and administrators that support students getting an education inside and outside of the classroom. Our students pay zero dollars to compete or attend an FFA competition, thanks to the continued support of this district and sponsors (such as) Helena and the Co-op in Midway. Additionally, we have nearly 300 members in our chapter this year due to the generosity of The Murray Bank in paying the FFA dues of every student that takes an agriculture class. Then to further demonstrate the support of this community, River Valley Ag Credit dropped off snack bags for our competitors on Wednesday which was a pleasant surprise and greatly reduced the financial burden on our students when they went for a pricey meal at the Kentucky State Fair. Our kids are successful, and we are blessed continually by this community. Thank you!
