This past weekend, our crews were proud to provide event medical standby coverage for the 2026 Saltsburg Canal Days.

Over the three-day celebration, community members and visitors enjoyed local arts and crafts, great food, a parade, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display. We are grateful for the opportunity to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending this wonderful community tradition.

Thank you to the event organizers, volunteers, public safety personnel, and all who attended for making this year's Canal Days a tremendous success!

A special thank you to Sean and Josh Roden of Roden Property Management, located in Washington Township, for taking care of our overgrown hillside. Their hard work and professionalism are greatly appreciated.

Sean and Josh are fourth-generation firefighters with Washington Township VFD who recently started their property management company just a few months ago. It is always great to support local businesses that are owned and operated by members of the fire service and community.

If you are in need of home remodeling, property maintenance, or lawn care services, be sure to reach out to them and support a local business.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Regarding Current Criminal Investigation of Former Medic One Employee

Earlier this week, Murrysville Medic One identified concerning material on a shared company computer after an employee attempted to complete a report and discovered that a Google account belonging to a now-former employee had remained logged in. Upon discovery, the Murrysville Police Department was immediately notified and granted full access to Medic One’s facility, computer systems, and IT resources and the individual was immediately excluded from Medic One vehicles and property and was discharged. Several employees also cooperated with law enforcement interviews as part of the investigation.
A forensic review determined that no photographs, videos, or other related material were stored directly on Murrysville Medic One computer systems. Investigators determined that the material accessed during the investigation originated from the former employee’s personal online Google account.
The individual was employed by Murrysville Medic One as a part-time wheelchair van driver and did not have access to the EMS division, ambulances, or patient care operations. At the time of his employment and again during a routine review conducted in January, the individual successfully passed all required criminal background and Child Abuse clearance checks, with no disqualifying history identified.
Murrysville Medic One will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement and provide any assistance necessary throughout the ongoing investigation.
