Welcome to the Muscatine Parks and Recreation page! The Parks and Recreation Department oversees various area recreational facilities including: a 17 diamond ballpark (Kent-Stein Park), the Municipal Golf Course, the Muscatine Aquatic Center, the Muscatine Soccer Complex, the Mississippi Mist, Pearl City Station, the Riverview Center and all park spaces. The Department is also responsible

for the boat harbor/marina, Greenwood Cemetery, public right-of-way mowing, street trees and various recreation programs.

⏳ Final days to register for Summer 2026 Parks & Recreation programs!

Swim lessons, tee ball, gymnastics, pickleball, tennis, volleyball, Sport Shorts, adult leagues — there’s still time to get your family signed up before deadlines arrive.

Register online through the MPRD RecDesk portal, visit us at 215 Sycamore Street, or call (563) 263‑0241. If an online deadline has passed, staff may still be able to help depending on availability.

Musco Summer Hours
☀️ Summer is here at the Musco Sports Dome!
Our updated hours begin May 26, giving families, athletes, and community groups more time to play, practice, and connect under the dome.

🕗 Mon–Sat: 8 AM–8 PM
🕕 Sun: 12 PM–6 PM
Closed May 25 for Memorial Day

📅 Heads up! Afternoon free time on June 3 will be canceled for Musser Public Library’s Dinos at the Dome—a family event full of prehistoric fun.

Come enjoy the 122,000 sq. ft. indoor turf, cool temps, and space for football, soccer, softball, baseball, pickleball, and more.

The Riverside Park playground next to Pearl City Station is temporarily closed as crews replace the playground surface.

The Parks & Recreation Department anticipates reopening the area by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, weather permitting.

Join us for the first‑ever Inflatable Fun Day at the Musco Sports Center on May 16–17 from 8AM–8PM. Enjoy bounce houses, fun inflatable obstacle courses, giant inflatable slides, soccer, kickball, and more!

Admission is just $5.00 per person per day — perfect for families, youth groups, and anyone ready for “Fun Without The Sun.”

Bounce, play, and burn off some energy — all indoors!

Join us for the first‑ever Inflatable Fun Day at the Musco Sports Center on May 16–17 from 8AM–8PM. Enjoy bounce houses, an obstacle course, soccer, football, and tons of open‑play fun.

Time to swap winter coats for swim bags, Muscatine!
The Muscatine Aquatic Center at W**d Park opens Saturday, May 23, 12–8 p.m. (weather permitting). The pool is filled, the water is getting its final tune‑up, and Parks & Rec is checking off the last prep items.

We’ll be closed Sunday, May 24 for the Melon City Criterium, but back open Monday, May 25 for all your Memorial Day fun.

Mississippi Mist and the Taylor Park Splash Pad are also in final prep — opening dates coming soon!

Muscatine’s Memorial Day Weekend tradition is back!

The 46th Melon City Criterium / Charlie Harper Memorial races into W**d Park on Sunday, May 24.

Please note: W**d Park will close to vehicles at 5 a.m. for racer and spectator safety.

Come cheer on elite cyclists as they take on the fast, iconic loop through the park — a celebration of community, competition, and summertime in Muscatine.

📍 Racing begins at 8:30 a.m.
🚧 Park reopens around 6 p.m.
🐾 Please secure pets and keep children clear of the racecourse.

The hard‑surface pickleball courts at the Musco Sports Center will be closed on Monday, May 11 for a scheduled deep cleaning. Courts will reopen Tuesday, May 12.

The synthetic turf field remains open on Monday for free‑time use and existing reservations.

Golf season is here!

2026 Season Passes for the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course are now on sale — and if you purchase yours by the end of business on May 3, you’ll receive a FREE Incentive Card with over $150 in savings on course perks.

Season passes cover green fees all season long, with options for adults, seniors, juniors, college students, and families. Payment plans are available.

Come out to the clubhouse and meet Steve Geisler, the new head golf professional at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course.
