Every veteran has a story. Stories about where they served. The people they met. The moments they remember. The experiences that shaped their lives when they returned home.

This Day of Caring, we're helping make sure those stories aren't lost.

Through the Veterans History Project, volunteers at Camp Newaygo will help preserve the firsthand experiences of local veterans for future generations.

Not every act of service requires work gloves. Sometimes it starts by sitting down, listening, and making sure someone's story is remembered.

Join us Friday, September 25 for Newaygo County Day of Caring.

When an American flag has reached the end of its service, it deserves to be retired with respect. This September 11, Day of Caring volunteers will help construct American Flag Retirement Boxes that will provide locations in our community where worn and damaged American flags can be respectfully collected for proper retirement.

It's one more way we're turning a Day of Remembrance into a day of meaningful service.

This special project is made possible with support from the Michigan Community Service Commission through the 9/11 National Day of Service.

Want to help build something that will continue serving our community long after Day of Caring is over?
