It's September!
You know what that means? September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!
Let's be honest, you can get a library card ANYTIME during the year. 😁But libraries across the nation celebrate this special initiative each year in September.

The American Library Association (ALA) first launched this campaign nationwide in 1987, with the hope of encouraging all to embrace the joys and benefits of library cards.

If you don't have a library card, it's FREE to get one!
For adults 18+, all you need is a valid state I.D. or Driver's License with your current address.
Youth ages 2-17 just need a parent/guardian cosigner! :)

Meet Roland! He is one of our amazing junior librarians who signed up for our "Be a Librarian for a Day" program here at Hackley Library.😊
Roland was a big help to Miss Lydia and Miss Melissa!
He learned about delivery (and using the book elevator!), how to check items in, how to organize books, and more.
Each junior librarian gets their very own name card, and a certificate at the end of their day!

Don't forget, Hackley Public Library has blood pressure kits that are available to check out!

These helpful kits can be checked out with a Hackley Library card once you've completed a "Library of Things (LoT)" agreement, and are courtesy of the American Heart Association - Michigan!

Play can be messy and SO MUCH FUN! :D
We had the best time at our latest Toddler Sensory Program, which was in collaboration with PLAY Muskegon!
Littles and caregivers interacted with several sensory play areas, learning, creating, and having fun together.

Watch for more events coming up soon with Hackley Library, but also mark your calendar for Toddler Sensory Programs to come in the future!

Our first Preschool Story Time on Thursday, September 10 will be at the Muskegon Museum of Art at 10:30am.
