Did the Spring Flood Damage Your Well or Septic System?

If your private well or septic system was damaged by the April 10–21, 2026, severe storms, tornadoes, or flooding, you may be eligible for FEMA assistance.

FEMA may help with the cost of:
- Septic system repairs or emergency septic pumping
- Repairs to damaged wells, water equipment, or water softeners
- Water testing for wells affected by floodwater
- Business losses from flooding, power outages, or damaged food and paper products
- Farm expenses such as replacing water-damaged feed or making repairs

Even if you're not sure you qualify, report the damage to FEMA. The deadline to apply is Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:59pm

🔔REMINDER: The deadline for survivors to apply for FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency's Individual Assistance (IA) program is Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. local time. The deadline to apply for a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loan for physical damage is also Aug. 31, 2026.

Were you affected by the April 2026 storms and flooding? A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is available in Muskegon County to help residents get connected to assistance.

🕘 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Residents can meet in person with representatives from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to:
• Get questions answered
• Learn about available assistance
• Apply for disaster assistance
• Get help navigating the recovery process

We're excited to bring back Healthy Harvest Kits at Hackley Community Care's 4th Annual Block Party!

Thanks to the incredible partnership and support of Public Health - Muskegon County, AgeWell Services of West Michigan, Trinity Health MI, and Muskegon YMCA , we'll be providing FREE fresh produce to our community while supplies last.

Together, we're making it easier for families to access nutritious, fresh foods and supporting healthier communities—one harvest at a time.
