Senior Resources of West Michigan

Senior Resources of West Michigan Senior Resources has served West Michigan for over 50 years. As an Area Agency on Aging, we serve as a hub for information on options for long term care.

We work to help people age in place with dignity and independence. Senior Resources, an area agency on aging, assesses community needs, develops and implements a regional plan for service delivery, serves as a focal point for information, provides care coordination, arranges for in-home care services, counsels on Medicare/Medicaid benefits and serves as an advocacy agency for older adults and the disabled. Senior Resources is a designated agent for the MI Choice Waiver program.

June is Pride Month—a reminder that everyone deserves to feel seen, respected, and connected at every stage of life. 🌈

We’re glad to share this upcoming Golden Years Lunch Date through Muskegon Pride—a chance for LGBTQ+ adults 55+ to come together over lunch, conversation, and community in a welcoming space.

🗓 June 17
⏰ 12:30 pm
📍 Seven Nine Four Kitchen & Bar, Muskegon

If you or someone you know is looking for connection, this could be a comfortable place to spend time with others. Opportunities like this matter—because no one should feel isolated as they age.

Meet our Options Counselor Team at Senior Resources!

These are the people on the other end of the phone when you call us. They listen to your questions, talk through your situation, and help you understand what services and supports are available.

Our Options Counselors work with:

• Adults age 60+
• Adults age 65+ or age 18–64 with a certified disability (for MI Choice Waiver)
• Individuals who need help with daily living tasks to remain independent
• Residents of Muskegon, Oceana, and Ottawa counties

When you reach out, they guide you through the process:

• Start with a phone call or secure referral
• Complete an initial care review
• Gather basic information (such as address, medical needs, and income)
• Review eligibility and available programs
• Schedule an assessment if appropriate

From that first call to next steps, they help connect people to the resources that support independence at home.

We hear it every day: confusion about eligibility, questions about the process, and even hesitation to apply.

But these programs are there for you. Accessing support doesn’t take away from someone else—it ensures resources meant for older adults are actually used.

If you have questions, we’re here to help. 231-733-3585

We see firsthand how much mobility matters.

At Senior Resources, we’ve had the opportunity to connect older adults and caregivers with Re New Mobility—and we’ve seen the difference it makes. The right equipment at the right time can mean safety, independence, and peace of mind.

We’re proud to support the important work they’re doing across West Michigan. If you’re able, consider joining us in supporting Renew Mobility and the thousands of people who rely on them every year. Thank you.
