City of Muskogee Foundation From education and health to economic development and quality of life, the City of Muskogee Foundation was established to make a real difference.

The City of Muskogee Foundation has four primary focus areas for grants: economic development, education & empowerment, health & wellness, quality of life. Grants committees from each focus area have established unique missions as well as general and specific types of funding. However, funding priority for all focus areas will be given to organizations primarily serving the citizens of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

All third grade students in Muskogee and Hilldale Public Schools are the beneficiaries of the Muskogee Reads the Sesquicentennial program funded by the City of Muskogee Foundation. The Three Rivers Museum applied for a grant in 2022 to help increase education around Muskogee's rich history and provide free books that are age appropriate to students and adults in the community. Teachers received the curriculum for Bad News for Outlaws, The Remarkable Life of Deputy U.S. Marshal Bass Reeves. After studying the book in class, children were able to take their books home to help build their own personal library.

Seeing our youth in action really helps connect our board with grant making and giving our board members something tangible to relate to! This week we were able to visit the Hilldale 5-6th grade Robotics summer camp, Dream Team summer learning and Community Treasures summer camp. The kids were excited to share their projects with us and tell us a little bit about their experiences in camp.
