Air Evac 83 is one of the only helicopter bases in the state to carry our own intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)!

An IABP is a mechanical cardiac device used to support the heart and reduce the workload on a weak or stressed heart. Because this is an advanced piece of equipment, our crew trains regularly to ensure we’re prepared when it matters most.

Today, we put that knowledge to the test with a friendly, Jeopardy-style competition! 🏆

Today was our monthly Base Safety Meeting, and there’s something special about having our entire team together in the same room. ❤️🚁

Each month, we come together to discuss safety concerns, identify ways to mitigate risk, and continue training so we can provide the safest, highest-quality care possible. Today, we also had the opportunity to celebrate some incredible milestones and achievements within our team!

👏 Adam — 250 safe patient flights
👏 Miranda- 250 safe patient flights and 4 years of service.
👏 Amanda — 50 safe patient flights
👏 Holly — 50 safe patient flights and a Community Award
👏 Sherri — 13 years of service

We are incredibly proud of the base culture we have built together. The dedication, teamwork, experience, and heart this crew brings to every flight is something truly special.
