🥚🐣 Back-to-School Learning at our Fort Gibson Early Head Start classroom! 🐣🥚

One of our exciting back-to-school projects has been hatching eggs in the classroom using an incubator! These pictures are from last week as our little learners began this exciting experience. 💙

Through this hands-on project, the children are learning about science, patience, and responsibility. They are also learning the importance of taking care of the eggs and keeping them safe while patiently waiting to see what happens next. 🥚🔬⏳

What an amazing opportunity for our children to learn through real-life experiences, curiosity, and exploration! We can't wait to continue this exciting journey with our little learners. 🐣💛

🚚🚗 Transportation Week at Youth Central Room 2! 🚙💙

Our friends have been learning about different kinds of transportation this week!

On Tuesday, the children had a special opportunity to check out Miss Annslee’s truck up close. 🚘 They enjoyed exploring and learning more about one of the many ways people travel and get from place to place.

Hands-on experiences like this help bring learning to life and encourage children to ask questions, explore their surroundings, and learn through real-world experiences. We love seeing our little learners discover new things! 💙✨

🌧️🚗 Learning on a Rainy Day in JBR Room 4! 🎨💙

Last Friday, our friends made the most of the rainy weather with a creative activity connected to their “On the Go!” theme. The children worked on gluing together their own wagons using construction paper. 🛒✂️

As they worked, they explored the different colors, shapes, and textures of the paper and glue—even noticing how the materials felt on their hands! This hands-on activity encouraged creativity while helping develop fine motor skills, sensory awareness, language, and early learning concepts.

Even a rainy day is a great day for learning and exploring! 🌧️💙✨

🚗🫧 A Fun-Filled Car Wash in JBR Room 7! 💦💙

Last Friday, our friends wrapped up their Trucks, Cars & Buses week with a fun and creative “car wash”! 🚙🚲

The children rode their bikes or walked through a stream of colorful streamers, giving them a chance to practice their gross motor skills through movement and coordination. Then came the bubbles! 🫧 The children worked on their fine motor skills as they reached, grabbed, and popped the bubbles.

What a fun way to wrap up a week of learning! Our little learners got to move, explore, and play while building important developmental skills along the way. 💙👏🚗

🍦💙 **HomeBase Socialization Fun!** 💙🍦

Today, our families had a wonderful time at their socialization! Families enjoyed some delicious ice cream while spending time together, connecting with one another, and making special memories. 🍨😊

We also had the opportunity to select two parents to serve as our Policy Council representatives—one representative and one alternate. We are excited to have their voices help represent our HomeBase families and contribute to our program!

Socializations are an important part of our HomeBase program because they give children and families opportunities to learn and play together, build relationships, practice social skills, and strengthen connections with other families and staff. They also provide parents with a chance to share experiences, exchange ideas, and be involved in their child's learning and development.

Thank you to all of our HomeBase families who joined us today! We loved seeing everyone enjoying time together. 💙🍦🌟

🚗🧽 Car Wash Fun in Shawnee Room 1! 💦☀️

On Monday, our friends took their learning **“On the Go!”** with a fun and messy car wash activity! 🚙🤎

The children made their own pretend mud using cornstarch, water, and brown paint, then got to work getting the toy cars nice and messy. Once the cars were covered in “mud,” it was time for a car wash! 🧼💦 The children used mild soap and water to scrub the cars clean.

This hands-on activity gave our little learners the opportunity to practice fine motor skills, sensory exploration, problem-solving, and pretend play while having a splashing good time!

🚲💦 Learning Through Play in JBR Rooms 3, 4 &7! 💙☀️

Last Friday, our friends in JBR Room 7 got creative by using their tricycles and brown paint to make it look like they were riding through mud! 🚲🤎

Then the fun continued outside when Rooms 3 & 4 joined them to wash the “mud” off the tricycles using water, sponges, and washcloths. 🧽💦

It was the perfect activity for a hot summer day while giving our children opportunities to strengthen both their fine and gross motor skills through active, hands-on play!

We love seeing our little learners use their imaginations while learning, moving, and having fun together! ☀️💙👏
