Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands – this is dangerous and often tragic for families and the community. This is what the DEA National RX “Take Back Day’ is all about – the opportunity to clean out your medicine cabinet and turn in - safely and anonymously – any unused prescription medications.

NBN Prevention Programs and our area medication disposal locations advocate for year-round disposal options, not just on Take Back Day.
It is recommended to securely store prescription medication in your home using a medication lockbox or lock bag and dispose of those that are expired or no longer in use via the local area safe drop off locations or using medication deactivation. pouches.

Today is the day! Join us and afterschool programs throughout the nation to celebrate "Lights On Afterschool"!

The NBN Dream Team Youth Program at the Martin Luther King Community Center is proud to join communities all across America to celebrate Lights On Afterschool, and initiative through the Afterschool Alliance.

We want to shine a light on the impact afterschool programs are making – inspiring learning and helping youth realize their full potential. Locally 150+ kids ages K-6th Grade rely on our youth afterschool program every day for a safe place to be, learn and grow.

NBN Prevention Programs was proud to have the opportunity to be the gameday sponsor at the Friday, October 9th 2026 Checotah Wildcat football game where they faced Tahlequah Sequoyah under the “Friday Night Lights”!

Our prevention messaging rang throughout the ballgame as the announcer shared prevention messaging during timeouts and at halftime.

Additionally, prevention videos featuring a current OU football player and former Checotah standout player were shown on the stadium’s jumbotron, sharing messages about the risks of alcohol, va**ng, and misusing prescription drugs.

Thank you Checotah Public School District for helping us bring these messages to students, families, and fans!

This years event will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Muskogee Depot District as part of the All Aboard Thursday!
