Muskogee Christmas Night Parade

Can't wait for Saturday night's 2016 "Wonderful World of Disney" Downtown Christmas parade! We have more floats than ever this year & Food Trucks that will be in the parking lot on Okmulgee between 4th & 5th Streets so that people can enjoy a great dinner betwee the end of the Parade & the events on the Civic Center lawn!

The parade starts at 5:00 p.m. Afterwards, everyone is invited to Community Christmas Caroling in front of the Civic Center. Our Mayor will light the Christmas tree at the Civic Center, then we will have our newest event--a "SNOWBALL DROP" where winners will receive a variety of prizes from local merchants!

Parade applications are due Friday, Dec. 2! Get them in early because there are already many new entries!

The parade begins at 5:00--right at sunset. Stick around afterward by going to the Civic Center for our Community Christmas Caroling, Tree Lighting ceremony, and our first ever SNOWBALL DROP where you can win prizes from local merchants by catching a "snowball!"

The date of Downtown Muskogee's Christmas Parade is officially set for Dec. 10!!! (Dec. 3 is bedlam--OU vs. OSU). If bad weather affects that day, our alternate date is Dec. 17. The parade theme is "The Wonderful World of Disney" which should be great fun--especially for KIDS (of all ages)!! It will start at 5:00 p.m. this year and we have several activities planned for after the parade, so be sure to stick around! Immediately after the parade, we will have Community Caroling in front of the Civic Center, then the official "Tree Lighting" ceremony and a brand new event--a "SNOWBALL DROP" from a giant snowman! Each "snowball" will represent a prize that can be redeemed with the business sponsoring it! Applications will be posted soon with all the essential details!

We will not make our final decision on the date until after our August board meeting (August 8). We have found out that the following conflict with our initial date of Dec 3: BEDLAM (OU vs OSU), Sadler Arts Academy's Nutcracker, and State Band Competition. We know that there area a lot of activities in December and it's difficult to schedule anything that won't conflict with others. This time, it seems there are so many conflicts that we MAY (or MAY NOT) change the original date of Dec. 3. Watch this space for updates!

Downtown Muskogee's 2016 Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3. It will again be a nighttime parade. We also have two "bad weather" dates: Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. Hopefully, we will not need them, but we are prepared if we do. We have some added attractions scheduled that will be announced soon! It's time to start planning your floats!

The Muskogee Christmas Parade 2015 Route is posted. Remember there will be no parking anywhere on the parade route this year. All parked cars on the route will be moved prior to the event. View the attached picture for parking areas and street closures. Enjoy!!!!
