While National Nonprofit Day has only been celebrated since 2017, its recurring date—August 17th—has been significant to nonprofits for much longer. According to National Day Calendar, this was the day the Tariff Act of 1894 was signed into law.

How can you take ACTION in this movement? Show some LOVE and SUPPORT to your favorite charitable organization by...reaching out to them to learn more about their mission, volunteering or serve on their board, (DONATE) contribute funds to their programs and outreach, LIKE & SHARE their social media posts.

Looking for summer meals for the kids?
Starting Monday, .June 1st 2026 through July 24th 2026 these sites are open to offer meals and snacks. All children 18 years and under are eligible to receive FREE meals; please refer to the flyer for locations and times.

Muskogee Welfare Association is accepting grant applications for the 2026 grant cycle.
Applications will be accepted from nonprofit organizations that provide direct services in the areas of early childhood, social services and education. Applications should not exceed $15,000 and be used to improve and/or enhance the lives of children and families in our community.
*Only organizations within the City of Muskogee will be considered.
