Starting school can be hard for some little ones, but it makes such a difference when they have a friend in their class who is a natural-born leader and nurturer.

This sweet friend has taken her by the hand every single day, showing her that everything will be okay and that they’ll take care of each other.

Watching friendships unfold and little bonds form right before your eyes is one of the sweetest parts of Pre-K. These tiny friendships may seem simple to us, but to them, they mean the world. 💕

More Than a Performance 🎭

MHS Theatre and Varsity Soccer students recently had the opportunity to learn more about Cystic Fibrosis from Jaxon Kretchmar and his mom, Sharine.

Their story will continue into the fall when Mustang High School Theatre presents John Lennon & Me, with the production helping raise funds for Jaxon’s charity of choice, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. ❤️ 🖤

Spotlight 🌟

Meet Mckenna Lincoln (née Line), Mustang High School Class of 2017.

Mckenna’s journey has taken her from Mustang to Meridian, Idaho, where she and her husband are raising their four children, Kayce, Dixon, Eloise, and Eric. After working at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City during the COVID pandemic, Mckenna stepped away from health care to stay home with her growing family.

Today, she volunteers in her oldest son’s kindergarten classroom and at church, homeschools two of her younger children, and stays connected to her new community through a book club and mom group.

But health care is still part of Mckenna’s story. When her middle son begins kindergarten, she plans to return to school and finish her nursing degree with the goal of becoming a NICU nurse. After two of her children were born prematurely and spent time in the NICU, she hopes to provide other families with the same compassion and support her family received.

Looking back at Mustang, Mckenna especially remembers the people. She met one of her best friends in third grade at Mustang Creek and another in Mrs. Gore’s Algebra class during her junior year.

Mrs. Gore also became one of the educators Mckenna remembers most.

“She was always so helpful and supportive. She listened to me about anything that was wrong and helped me make a plan when I was stuck and unsure of what to do.”

Mckenna says Mrs. Gore’s guidance helped her make a decision during her senior year that changed her life for the better.

From lifelong friendships to an educator whose influence is still felt years later, Mckenna remains proud of her Mustang roots. ❤️🖤
