Carl Daugherty, age 84, died Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at a Watonga hospital. He was born July 30, 1941, in Watonga, Oklahoma to Richard and Helen (Cyphers) Daugherty. He grew up in Watonga and was a 1959 graduate of Greenfield High School. After high school he married Sharon Schenk on September 24, 1960, in Watonga, Oklahoma. Carl was a hard worker all his life. He built a 20+ year career as a wireline engineer and spent the remainder of his career in various oilfield jobs. He and Sharon became members of Crossroads Mustang (previously Mustang United Methodist Church) in 1968 and were generous donors to and participants in various ministries. In younger years he was very active in his church community, serving in prison ministry, playing golf with the men’s group, and doing various woodworking projects; his craftsmanship extended to his family and friends as well. Carl and Sharon also really enjoyed working in their vegetable garden together, until Sharon’s passing in 2007. In his later life, Carl enjoyed gathering his family together, especially his annual birthday dinner at Red Lobster. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of over 47 years, Sharon Daugherty, and is survived by his two sons Toby Daugherty and wife, Susan, of Edmond, Terry Daugherty and wife, Anne, of Mustang, four grandchildren Emily (Dustin) Hey, Mason (Devin) Daugherty, Amanda (Nick) Bailey all of Mustang, and Katie (Brent) Ellis of Plano, TX, and great-grandchildren Lillian McKinley, Kylan John, Grady Lee, Evyn Marie, Lane Harvey, Nolan Nicholas, Lane Jeffrey, and Parker James. Services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Crossroads Mustang with interment following in the Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Funeral Services, Mustang, Oklahoma. The family would like to specifically extend thanks to Live Better at Home and Liz Coppak, Carl’s caregiver at the end of his life.

Public Visitation is being held on Friday, June 19th, from 1-8pm at McNeil's Funeral Service.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, at 1pm at Crossroads Mustang.

Joyce Lee (Jackson) Kemp, age 87, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026. She was born on December 28, 1938 in Lehigh, OK to Albert E. and Erma (Isom) Jackson. The family moved back and forth from California to Oklahoma during her childhood, she finished school at Gilroy Bible School in Gilroy, CA. She married the love of her life, Rev. Don E. Kemp on May 25, 1957. They were missionaries to the Indian Reservation in Parker, AZ. Here they fostered many children. During their travels Joyce worked in restaurant management and eventually owned and operated K’s Kountry Kitchen in Ketchum, OK. She enjoyed sewing, needlework and reading, but her love was for her Lord and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don (1998) and her parents. Joyce is survived by her three children: Steve Kemp and wife Angela, Denise Owen and husband Steve and Robin Robinson, ten grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren and three “on the way.” Also, by her four siblings, Alta Alls, Nancy Simpson and husband Vernon, Eddie Jackson and Pat Fisher and husband Mike. Jack Dillon McCarty, age 85, of Mustang, passed away on June 6, 2026. He was born in Watonga, OK, on December 13, 1940, to Clarence and Lucille (Jacobs) McCarty. The family later moved to California, and Jack graduated from high school there.

He served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After military service, he began working for the Department of Defense. On November 11, 1967, Jack married the love of his life, Darlene Hamilton. They enjoyed many wonderful years until her passing in 2023.

In 1973, Jack got a job with the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronic technician. In 1978, he became an instructor for the FAA and served in this capacity until his retirement in 1997.

Jack enjoyed gardening, fishing, and golfing. He was a faithful watcher of Fox News. He loved history and devoted many hours to studying the past. He was a keen researcher of his family’s ancestry. Most importantly, he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents; siblings, Lodema, Doris, Gene, Duane, and Coy.

He is survived by daughter, Debbie Morris and her husband Joe; grandchildren, Kayla Peters, Michael Morris, Rebecca Lemmon and husband Jaden, Joe Morris and wife Emma, Hannah Morris, Samuel Morris and wife Anna, Daniel Morris, and Leila Morris; great grandchildren Keith, Chloe, Jax, Eden, Mia, Bradley, and Wyatt; sisters Juanita Potts and Mary McCarty; as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Public visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13th, from 1-4pm at McNeil’s Funeral Service in Mustang.

Graveside services will be held at 3pm on Friday, June 19th, at the East Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Watonga.
