Were back at it again! Myers Flat Fire is once again proud to be out and representing Southern Humboldt as part of strike team 2076 at the Plaskett fire in the Los Padres National Forrest, by Big Sur. Its always an honor have the opportunity to work alongside such an incredible group of firefighters, whose tireless commitment to protecting our community and neighbors inspires us, and pushes us to be the best we can be. We want to also thank all our firefighters back home, who's dedication and hard work protecting our home district while we are away makes this opportunity possible! These out of county strike team deployments bring in much needed funds to our department that will enable us to increase our capacity, upgrade our apparatus, purchase all new protective gear and give our firefighters incredible hands on experience and training to be able protect our area better and make our vision for a new fire station come true. Also, a huge Thank you to all of you who continue to support our department and help us make all this possible!

Myers Flat Fire is back home safe from our deployment with southern humboldt task force 281 at the MP18 fire in Hoopa, California. We are all very proud and thankful for the opportunity to work side by side with the incredible firefighters and amazing folks who make up our southern humboldt fire community, and the honor to be able to play our part in protecting that sacred land. We also want to thank our brave and dedicated firefighters who stayed home here in Myers Flat to protect our district. While we were away, Myers Flat Fire, with engine 6931, responded to a major structure fire in Phillipsville, a structure and wildland fire in Benbow, and 6 medical calls. Without the strong team we have here, and the amazing support from all of you, we wouldn't be able to do all of this hard work. Thank you to everyone for making the difference, and helping us continue to protect this amazing place we all come home!

Myers flat fire and rescue is proud to represent southern humboldt as part of task force 2075 on the MP18 FIRE in Hoopa, California. As we continue to grow and expand, we are excited to extend our capabilities and reach as a successful mutual aid partner in both our community and beyond. We are committed to rising to the call, wherever it's needed, and standing strong with our southern humboldt fire community. We want to thank each and every one of our volunteers, supporters, and community members who continue to help us be a department we can be proud of. It's only through the support and donations from all of you that we can continue to be here and make the difference!

Last night, August 6, at 12:05 am, our firefighters were woken from sleep, and just 5 minutes later, Myers Flat engine 6930 responded to a call for a single vehicle rollover accident on highway 101 just south of weott. We arrived at scene to find a pickup truck smashed to pieces blocking the northbound lane, airbags deployed with parts spread all over the highway. 2 lucky passengers were already out of the vehicle and although shaken and scared, recieved mostly minor injuries. We were able to help them while waiting for the ambulance to come and transport. Afterwards we assisted the tow company removal of the vehicle from the highway, ran traffic management, and cleared the road. Back to the station by 1:30, and back in bed by 2:25. At 5:30 am we were woken again by the radio with a call for a man suffering chest pains and trouble breathing. We arrived at scene 7 minutes later and provided aid and oxygen until ambulance crews arrived. Back home again by 7:15 am. At 9:30 we all arrived at our station to clear out and clean our apparatus bay to set up for the monthly food bank (food for people) we host at our firehouse the first Thursday of every month. From 10:30-2:30 we worked alongside community volunteers preparing and distributing food bags to the community. At 8:45 pm, after just getting ready to call it a day and get to bed, we recieved another call of a person suffering a medical emergency and within 5 minutes were back in the truck, racing to the location. Made it home by 11:45. This is just an example of the commitment, dedication, and sacrifice our volunteers make everyday. We are proud of each and everyone of them for what they do for our community. If you would like to tell them yourself its easy, this morning early, they're all back at the firehall training. Or tomorrow, they will be back again by 9 to set up for a long day of Saturday barbecues.
