🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE for the Annual Community Block Party 🚧

Attention, residents and visitors!

Please be advised that certain roads and parking lots will be closed on Saturday, September 26th, from 5 AM to 7 PM for the Annual Community Block Party.

The following sections will have no parking during these times:
-North Railroad Street (from Northwest Bank drive-thru) to South Railroad Street at Park Ave.
-West Main Ave at Rt 501 to East Main Ave at Broad Street.
Ticketing of vehicles will begin at 5 AM. Our goal is to avoid ticketing, so we kindly request that you make plans to park your vehicle elsewhere ahead of time. Temporary signage will be posted in the no-parking areas.
- The public parking lots at 6 E Main Ave and the Community Center will also be closed.

Free Off-Street Parking Available:
-Pool Parking Lot: 1 W Center Ave
-Fish Dam Parking Lot: Off College Street, just north of Richland Ave
-"Old Tennis Court" Parking Lot: Off Peach Alley, in the southeast portion of the recreation area

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep the streets open and safe for block party patrons. Please plan accordingly and utilize the free parking options provided.

Notice: UGI has scheduled its contractor to mill and restore ten utility patches around Myerstown the week of September 21, following recent gas line work. If you're near W. Carpenter Ave, S. Goodwill St, W. Main Ave, N. Railroad St, E. Main Ave, S. Cherry St, or W. Park Ave, keep an eye out for crews and equipment, and expect possible short-term parking or access changes. Dates are tentative and weather-dependent.

Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Program
The Myerstown Borough Public Works Department will be picking up leaves and yard waste in the morning on Mondays and Fridays, only on the following dates:

October 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, and 30, 2025
November 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, and 30, 2025
December 4, 7, and 11, 2025

Yard Waste consists of leaves and small sticks. No grass clippings are accepted.
Pick up will be completed only if the leaves are placed in clear plastic bags and the bags are placed at the curb by 7:00 AM the day of collection.
Clear plastic bags can be purchased at the Myerstown Community Center, 101 S. Railroad St., in bundles of 4 bags for $1.00.

For large branches, contact the Public Works Department at 717-866-6948. Please leave your name, address, and telephone number, and Public Works will contact you to arrange pick up.

Myerstown Borough is testing a new livestream for Council meetings, starting with tonight's Voting Session at 6:30 PM.

This gives residents who can't make it to a meeting a way to still see and hear what's happening. We wanted to make that option available as soon as possible, so bear with us if picture or sound isn't polished during this test phase while the full setup is being completed.

At the most recent Myerstown Borough Council Meeting, council members unanimously agreed to discount Season Passes to the Myerstown Community Pool. Season Passes, now 50% off, can be purchased at the Myerstown Borough Office, located at 101 S. Railroad Street, Myerstown. The office is open M-F, 7:30-4:00.

ATTENTION, Borough Residents:

The Myerstown Water Authority will begin flushing hydrants starting on Monday, June 15, and continuing daily until completed.

Low water pressure may be experienced during flushing.
Flushing will be done during the daytime hours.
Please call the Water Authority at 717-866-9301 with any questions.
