Alpha Company, Third Battalion Change of Command

On Saturday, 20 January 2024, a Change of Command was held for Alpha Company at the Disabled American Veterans hall in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Passing the torch: Outgoing commander Major (SC) Joe Markey passed the Alpha Company Guidon to LTC (SC) Charles "Butch" Forgason, the Battalion Commander of Third Battalion, under the watchful eyes of the Company First Sergeant, 1SG (SC) Angelo Lello. After relinquishing command of Alpha Company, Major Markey immediately assumed duties as the Battalion Operations Officer.

The torch has been passed: Incoming commander Captain (SC) Ricky Kidman accepts the Alpha Company Guidon from the Battalion Commander of Third Battalion, LTC (SC) Charles "Butch" Forgason. Prior to assuming command of the Company, Captain Kidman was assigned to the Medical Detachment of the SCSG.

First remarks: CPT (SC) Ricky Kidman addresses Alpha Company, Third Battalion for the first time as the new Company Commander.
