I am proud to be a candidate in the Republican Primary for Horry County School Board District 3, and I would be honored to earn your vote on June 9, 2026. For more than 37 years, I have served others as an Army officer, educator, and district leader, and I would like to share more of my story with you.
I grew up in South Carolina, where I learned the values that have guided me throughout my life. After high school, I enlisted in the United States Army to earn money for college. That three-year enlistment helped me pay my tuition at the University of South Carolina, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree and was selected to serve as an active-duty Army officer in the Military Police Corps. I proudly served our nation in the United States and abroad, in both peacetime and war, for 24 years.
After retiring from the military, I chose to continue serving as a high school teacher, where I mentored, coached, and taught young leaders.
Ten years ago, I was appointed Director of JROTC and Physical Education for Horry County Schools, where I served honorably for nine years and personally witnessed how we meet the needs of students and support our teachers. In retirement, I have remain active in the community by mentoring, teaching flag etiquette, reading to students, and serving as a Scout leader, and Board Member for the Waccamaw Youth Center.
My leadership experience and commitment to service have shaped every chapter of my life. I remain committed to supporting the families of Carolina Forest and to helping ensure our schools are guided by integrity, purpose, and a strong commitment to student success. My commitment to service has taken me around the world, and now I am asking for the opportunity to bring that same commitment to the families of Horry County.
I am asking for your support, your vote, and your trust. Together, we can ensure that Horry County’s schools are led with integrity and purpose.
