Everyone is invited to F1rst Friday Art Walk to enjoy food, fellowship and music! 🎨🎼

The Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance hosts the F1rst Friday Art Walk this Friday, August 1, from 5 to 8 p.m., in downtown Myrtle Beach. The event features artists showcasing their storytelling, painting, sculpting, pottery and photography talents. You can enjoy dining specials and artists along Broadway Street, Eighth Avenue North, Main Street, Nance Plaza, Ninth Avenue North and outdoor venues throughout the Arts & Innovation District.

A free ArtWalk Shuttle runs throughout the event for those who prefer to ride between participating venues. The free shuttle will make its ArtWalk loop with planned stop locations including:

- Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance Office, 522 Broadway Street
- George Bar, 503 Eighth Avenue North 512, Ninth Avenue North
- Fresh Brewed Coffee House, 933 Broadway Street
- William H Miller Studios & Fine Art, 702 Eighth Avenue North
- Swig & Swine, 525 Broadway Street Corner parking lot, Third Avenue North and Broadway Street, near Gallery 320

Tax free weekend begins at 12:01 a.m., Friday, August 1, and ends at midnight, Sunday, August 3. No sales tax is charged on qualifying items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, book bags, computer, printers and more during the August 1-3 period. Not every purchase is eligible, but many are. For more information, click here. South Carolina’s sales tax, as well as any applicable local sales tax (for example, the schools’ Capital Improvement Tax and the city’s one percent Tourism Development Fee), will not be charged on qualifying items.

Get ready to ring in the new year! The Market Common hosts “A Southern Times Square” New Year’s Eve Celebration from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31. The event takes place along Reed Street, Howard Avenue and Deville Street. Attendees can enjoy live music by Painted Man Band, performances from local entertainers, food trucks, beer and wine vendors, kids’ corner, a dazzling ball drop, a stunning jumbotron and a special guest appearance by WPDE’s Chief Meteorologist, Ed Piotrowski. Due to unforeseen safety restrictions, the highly anticipated drone show will not take place this year. Tickets are required for entry.
