Thanks to our friends in Calabash we have been very blessed to be allowed to participate in these trainings for the last month. No training will ever compare to acquired structure training especially when it’s different departments all coming together with the same goal of being better.

The Horry County Fire Rescue family is heartbroken this morning, having lost Battalion Chief James Cyganiewicz.

Cyganiewicz was a volunteer with Horry County for several years before becoming a career member in 1993, serving as the HCFR Investigation Unit's Chief Investigator and most recently earning the title of Battalion Chief.

We ask for your consideration, thoughts and prayers for Cyganiewicz's family, friends, loved ones and extended public safety family during this difficult time.
