Our Youth Librarian was recognized as this week's First In Service Employee. Congratulate Stacey if you see her this weekend.
✨ FIRST IN SERVICE FRIDAY ✨ Please join the City of Myrtle Beach in congratulating Stacey LoCascio as this week’s First in Service Friday Employee of the Week! Stacey is a Youth Services Librarian at Chapin Memorial Library. You may recognize Stacey from Storytime, youth programs or being the star in our videos! She has been with the city for nearly nine years and has a passion for inspiring kids to enjoy reading through songs, stories and programs. Her nomination reads...
"Stacey exemplifies what it means to be First in Service through her dedication to children, families, educators, and colleagues across Myrtle Beach. Inside and outside the library, she actively promotes a love of reading and the development of strong literacy skills, meeting children exactly where they are with creativity, enthusiasm, and heart.
Whether she’s belting out an entertaining rendition of Soup Opera by Jim Gill to spark excitement around storybooks or working closely with HGTC professors to help future teachers build practical, classroom-ready literacy skills, Stacey brings learning to life. Her work extends beyond programs and partnerships - she intentionally connects families with one another, helping to build a stronger, more engaged community through shared experiences at the library.
Stacey is always looking for ways to do more and to make a greater impact. She is a true team player, consistently encouraging her Youth Services team and supporting the library team as a whole. She shows up each day with a positive attitude, a welcoming smile, and a genuine desire to assist everyone who enters the children's department.
Our children, families, and educators are better served because of Stacey’s passion, creativity, and leadership. We are incredibly fortunate to have her serving the Myrtle Beach community, and she is highly deserving of recognition as First in Service."
Thank you Stacey for being a shining light in our library and a role model to the next generation. You are appreciated!
