I would just like to say thank you to my family, friends, neighbors, to everyone who let me put signs across District 2, and to all my supporters who voted for me in the District 2 Commissioner primary race.
Congratulations to Dawn Kassa & Scott Woitas for making onto the November ballot.
I started to take signs down tonight and putting them in storage. Who knows, they might be coming out again in the future. Thanks again!

Thanks to everyone that’s reached out with well wishes over the last two weeks that I’ve been fighting Covid! I’m continuing to get better by the day and look forward to getting back out soon!

I really appreciate all my supporters, friends and family who have been kind enough to put my signs up all across the district!

Remember, today is the last day to vote early up at courthouse! Otherwise get out to vote tomorrow!

Just want to update you all on my condition. I’m still positive with Covid as of today, but I’ve been feeling better than I was last week when I had to make a trip to the hospital for IV treatment.
I wanted to take the time to answer the questions that were asked at forum this last week, since Covid prevented me from attending.

1. What would you do with a million dollar grant that could be used on anything in the county?
I would asses the needs of the county and apply it to wherever it would have the greatest impact.

2. What is your view of the job of a commissioner?
Overseeing our district and always being available for feedback from constituents on their issues.

3. What do you think is the most important challenge facing the county?
As I’ve been out talking with people across our district, their biggest concerns have been the county’s budget issues and rising taxes. As your commissioner, I would fight to make the county spend taxpayer dollars more responsibly and model the county budget like a family’s budget.

4. Should county commissioners write and adopt specific policies or should the details be crafted by staff and implemented by commissioners?
I think it should be a joint effort between commissioners, department heads, and county administration.

5. What is your vision of Freeborn County over the next 10 years?
There’s a lot of unknowns that could happen over the next 10 years, but I’d like to see our county consistently have a surplus and learning to live within our means.

6. Should any part of the county budget be shielded from cuts?
I think law enforcement is the most essential county service. They are already short staffed and having issues, I couldn’t support any cuts there. Also the county’s highway department budget must be protected to keep up maintenance on our roads.

7. In managing public agencies, Is it better to have more employees at modest wage or fewer employees at a wage high enough to attract quality applicants?
I think it would better to have less employees at a more attractive wage that makes our county’s employees more productive.

Today we are one week out from the primary election and I look forward to getting back out on the campaign trail once I’m cleared!
I humbly ask for your vote on August 9th to bring some rural common sense to the county board!

Wish I could be at the Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce’s candidate forum tonight, but unfortunately I’ve been out with Covid this week.

But my interview with the Albert Lea Tribune was published yesterday and I hope you’ll take a chance to read about my race to bring rural common sense back to the county!
Thanks again to Sarah Stultz for taking the time to talk to me last week!

Talked to a group of active citizens tonight in Albert Lea about my race for County Commissioner.
Discussed how I want to see our county run more like a family budget, the need for more support for our law enforcement, and to bring back some rural common sense!
