Last week, Friday, July 21st, to be exact, I had the pleasure of witnessing and being a part of Mississippi hospitality at work, by helping a Missouri mother and daughter get back on the road. While on their way to the National Barrel Horse Association Youth World Championship in Perry, Georgia, their horse trailer broke down on I-22 in Myrtle.

Thanks to Josh (from Memphis) for getting them off the interstate and in to Myrtle. Thanks to David Peeler for his repair assistance, Beaudron's Tire Service (Ellis & Edward), who supplied tire service and water for the horses, Myrtle Baptist Church (Bro. Farley) who supplied water for the people and stalls for the horses, and Terry Adair for spending his weekend repairing the trailer. Also want to thank Mike Gonzales and Kylynn Hale for rounding up trailers in case they were needed.

After borrowing a trailer, it was a little after midnight before they got on their way to Perry, Ga, where they had to check in by 4 PM or be disqualified.

Thanks again to all the people that gave a helping hand, that's the way Mississippians roll.
