Join us Tuesday, September 8 in the Student Center Theater (2nd floor, next to Starbucks) for our annual SHIELD event!

🍿 FREE popcorn & soda during the presentation

👋 Tabling starts at 4:30 PM. Come early, meet our campus & community partners, grab some snacks, free swag, and check out what everyone has to offer!

🎤 Presentations begin at 5:00 PM

SHIELD brings together the people and resources who are here to help keep our SFA community safe, supported, and prepared! Includes law enforcement, emergency management, safety, Title IX, IT, and community partners.

UPDATE: God is good! 🙏Procedure went better than expected per the surgeon. He needed a temporary pacemaker which they are putting in now. Depending on how he does in next 48 hours, he may get a permanent one installed. Next 48 hours is key to see how the TAVR procedure went.

Please join us in praying for one of our UTS Police Department at SFA Telecommunicators, Coby Carter, who is currently receiving care at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Coby has been experiencing serious heart and blood pressure issues, and his medical team continues to carefully evaluate the best course of treatment as his condition changes from day to day.

At this time, Coby is scheduled to undergo a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure. While this is a high-risk operation, it is one his physicians believe is necessary.

Coby and his Poppa Jack have long been a part of our law enforcement family, and both have been tremendous supporters of our first responders and our community. They have always been there for others, and now it's our turn to be there for Coby.

We believe in the power of prayer and ask everyone to take a moment to lift up Coby during this difficult time. Please pray for wisdom for his physicians, peace and comfort for Coby, strength for his family and loved ones, and for God's healing hand to be upon him.

We appreciate your continued prayers and support and will share updates as appropriate.
