Let's talk about our Treasurer - organized, unstoppable, and a financial powerhouse: Alester Cato!

Alester is smart, strong and seriously inspiring. From the moment they became our treasurer, they dove headfirst into the world of budgeting, bank accounts, and all things 💰. Making everything organized and accessible for us and making it look easy while doing it.

When they're not keeping our finances in check, you can catch them reading dystopian novels, playing guitar, at one of their jobs on campus, or just being an all-around amazing friend.

We love you, Alester!

Meet our amazing Social Media Coordinator, Emily Amundson!

She's a Psychology major with a Sociology minor who keeps our feed looking flawless and our content up to date. From flyers to posts, she is the creative magic behind the scenes!

When she's not designing eye-catching graphics, you can find her out in nature: hiking, camping, and chasing the fresh air.

Sweet, supportive, and always a team player, Emily is not just an officer; we are lucky to call her a great friend as well! 🥰

So it's Mental Health Awareness Day, and while we are slowly but surely starting to break the stigma around mental illness and the like, we still have a long ways to go. It's very easy to make posts about how important it is to seek help when you need it, but it can be a very daunting task putting that into practice. We just want you to know, that despite how alone you can feel at times or how difficult everything may feel, you are never alone and there are resources available to you.

Understand, mental health is more than face-masks and bubblebaths, and while those things are amazing and have their place, know that you are not weak or lesser if you are seek professional help. You are strong, you are resilliant, and you will get through whatever is troubling you.

The Psi Chi chapter of Stephen F. Austin State University was awarded the Model Chapter Award of 2015-2016.

This award is presented to chapters that succeed, as a society, in these following criteria:
Do a superior job in identifying and inviting eligible students to Psi Chi; add members at least once or twice a year; vote in Society elections; serve their community with a service project each year; serve their members with a special topic workshop each year; and demonstrate teamwork to reach goals.

Continuously, this award is presented to chapters that possess officers fitting these qualities:
Maintain good communication with members; meet regularly for Psi Chi business; keep chapter information updated with the Central Office; review the chapter handbook and policies annually; and support each other in their roles.

Congratulations to SFA Psi Chi for this exemplary award!
