🫐 Cooking Up the Blues! 🫐

Join us this Saturday at 10:00 AM at Mast Hall for a fun and delicious cooking demonstration featuring Makenzie Banks, San Augustine FCH Agent, and Lori Frederick, Nacogdoches County FCH Agent at the Texas Blueberry Festival.

We’ll be preparing four tasty blueberry recipes that have become family favorites. You’ll leave with fresh ideas and recipes to enjoy at home.

We are so proud of Dalli Marlow for representing Nacogdoches County at the 2026 Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador Super Summit in College Station!

Out of more than 500 applicants across Texas, only 275 Youth Ambassadors were selected, representing 70 counties statewide.

Dalli’s selection is a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of her leadership, dedication, and commitment to making a positive impact in her community.

Congratulations, Dalli! We are excited to see all the great things you will accomplish as a Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador. 🎉👏

The Early Childhood Learn Grow Eat and Go program was a huge success at Fredonia Early Childhood Center, serving over 300 youth! Students learned the basics of gardening and participated in hands-on activities throughout the month that focused on nutritious fruits and vegetables. I think their favorite part was sampling the fresh veggies and taking turns riding the blender bike!

A big thank you to all of the amazing teachers and staff who helped make this event such a success. We appreciate your support in helping youth learn healthy habits while having fun!

The Nacogdoches County Youth Ambassadors are doing a great job educating our community! Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador, Dalli Marlow, and Equine Ambassador, Abigail Little, have done a fantastic job bringing their passion to local schools. They have both read books to students to promote literacy and a love for reading.

The students also had the opportunity to participate in Reading with Ponies alongside our Prairie View A&M Extension agent, Julie Taylor, and her miniature pony!

Thank you to Head Start and Martinsville ISD for welcoming us into your classrooms and allowing us to share the joy of reading with your students and teaching about agriculture!

We are blown away by how incredible the 6 Tower Gardens are doing at our local schools and the Boys & Girls Club right here in Nacogdoches County! 🌱✨

This is what it’s all about—bringing STEM learning to life in a hands-on, meaningful way. Students aren’t just learning about science… they’re living it, growing fresh, nutritious vegetables and seeing the results of their hard work every day.

Even better, these gardens are helping feed the youth of our county—building healthier habits and stronger communities one plant at a time. 🥬💚
