We were thrilled to have special guests from the our NAUW partner agency, Boys and Girls Clubs of Deep East Texas, at our March NAUW board meeting. Holding the sign with our CEO is Cassie Tieman, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Deep East Texas Youth of the Year! Cassie gave an impressive and moving speech about her life and how much the BGCDET has meant to her. She competes at the state level this week and we believe East Texas has awesome representation! Go Cassie!

Under the leadership of Chairman of the Board and Campaign Chairman Wendy Buchanan, Nacogdoches Area United Way set a big campaign goal to raise $300,000 for 2026. As of this week, we have reached that goal!

To commemorate the successful close of our campaign, NAUW board members and agency leaders met current and former NAUW CEOs at the campaign thermometer to raise that mercury and celebrate! The press attended with representatives from The Daily Sentinel… look for the story!

We are so grateful for all the generous United Way supporters who helped make this happen for our community. Thank you, United Way donors; you are the best!

With our goal met, we look forward to a very impactful 2026! United is the Way, and great things happen when you LIVE UNITED!

At our December meeting, the gavel passed from 2025 Chairman of the Board Wendy Buchanan to 2026 Chairman Jimmy Day. 'tis the season of giving and Rex Perry Autoplex takes that to heart! Every year, they give away a car to one lucky Nacogdoches Area United Way donor who has pledged "My Fair Share" (one hour of pay per month) to United Way for the next year. Last night's car giveaway was a beautiful occasion! The five finalists were introduced and each shared their reason for donating to United Way; very moving! They came from NAUW workplace campaign partners Commercial Bank of Texas, Eaton (two finalists), Motorhomes of Texas, and Nacogdoches Medical Center. Then came the drawing... the first four names drawn won gift cards from Rex Perry Autoplex, so that no finalist left empty-handed. The last name in the spinner was the winner of that beautiful Hyundai Elantra! The winner's gratitude was genuine and beautiful! How wonderful to see all of these finalists who give to their community receive a gift in return. Thank you Rex Perry Autoplex for rewarding these United Way donors so generously, for hosting this beautiful annual event, and for all you do for our community!
