Thank you to all who have donated so far this year! As a reminder, we have collection bins located here at the firehouse and up at the Nahant Town Hall. The Marines will be collecting this weekend between the 13/14th, so if you haven’t already, please consider dropping off toys!

The crew today were busy hanging lights in anticipation of Santa's arrival. With his sleigh getting a tune-up we will be giving Santa a ride to Town Hall around 5:45 for the annual tree lighting

It’s that time of year again! The Nahant Fire Fighters Local 2718 is again collecting new, unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corp Toys for Tots Program. Donations can be dropped off in the Toys for Tots bin located in the lobby of the fire station. There is also a donation box located in the main lobby of the Nahant Town Hall, right next to our legendary “Eagle” handtub. Toys will be collected right up until Christmas, but to ensure toys find their way to children in need for this Christmas, please drop off any donations prior to December 13th.

Earlier today we recognized Nahant resident Gennaro Anguilo for his generous support of the town of Nahant and in particular the Nahant Fire Department. Gennaro and the Anguilo family support has been ongoing for years, and members of the Nahant Fire Department are extremely grateful of that fact !!

Yesterday Nahant Firefighters performed some driver training drills. The drills simulated scenarios that firefighters will typically encounter such as narrow roadways, backing down a narrow roadway or backing into apparatus bay. These drills require the firefighters to know the size and dimensions of the apparatus they drive and be comfortable maneuvering in and around tight spaces.

The Nahant Fire Department also received a new price of equipment called an “Emergency Plug”. With electric vehicles becoming more common we need to better prepared to respond to these types of calls. The Emergency Plug quickly creates a safe working environment for first responders working in any type of EV.
The Electric Plug was also purchased with a grant from Massachusetts Department of Fire services Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program .
