Operations are stabilizing, and we’re beginning a transition back to normal services.

Household trash collection is expected to resume regular routes on Monday, May 4, 2026. Crews have been working through challenging conditions, and we appreciate your continued patience.

Debris removal planning is actively underway. A full schedule and guidance for debris pickup and disposal will be shared on Monday to help residents understand timing and expectations.

We’ll continue providing updates as additional details are finalized.

RE-ENTRY UPDATE – Friday (Zone 25)

Residents in Zone 25 (Southern Browntown) are approved to return Home. NO THROUGH TRAFFIC, NO SEMI ACCESS.
Residents Only.

Browntown Road South of Albert Gibson is open

-Boots Harrison Road will remain closed.
-North of Albert Gibson will remain closed.

Please use caution when returning home. Be aware of any hazards, follow guidance from local officials, and take your time as you re-enter the area.

We appreciate your patience and are glad to welcome our community back safely.

Road Updates:
• Hwy 110W is restricted to pass entry only
• Hwy 32 is open to 110w (Residence Only) No Through traffic

NO THROUGH TRAFFIC MEANS NO SEMI ACCESS.
RESIDENTS ONLY at this time.

Please remember: the fire is NOT out. There is still heat and smoldering throughout the area. You may see smoke or areas with potential for re-burn. Fire personnel and equipment remain actively working—please use caution and stay aware.

TO OUR RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY
We know many of you are trying to return home, check on your property, and get answers. Our teams are working to provide clear information, answer questions, and move toward safe re-entry where possible.

THE FIRE IS STILL ACTIVE AND EXTREME DROUGHT CONDITIONS PERSIST.

Safety remains our top priority. This is a large and complex situation with many moving parts, and every decision is being made with your safety in mind.

Limited re-entry is now being allowed with specific guidelines for residents who have a placard for Highway 110w or are returning to voluntary evacuation areas. Many road closures are still in place. Please see map attached.

RE-ENTRY PROCESS
• Show proof of residence
• Follow all road closures and barricades
• Keep children under 18 with an adult at all times
• Be ready to leave again if conditions change

PLACARD PICKUP, 6 AM to 10 PM
Placards are required for Hwy 110 W residents.
Pickup locations:
• Satilla Grocery / Hwy 259
• Hwy 32 & 301 (west side of 301, open lot)
No limit per home.

• No commercial vehicles allowed
