City of Nanticoke Announces the Big Bang and Parade Event Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and Nanticoke’s 100th Anniversary as a City
The City of Nanticoke will mark two historic milestones on June 27: the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 100th anniversary of Nanticoke’s designation as a city. City officials are inviting businesses, schools, civic organizations, arts groups, sports teams, clubs, and community groups to participate in this once-in-a-century event. Parade entries may include floats, marching units, performers, decorated vehicles, mascots, musical groups, and other creative displays that showcase the spirit and pride of Nanticoke. The parade will step off at 12:00 p.m. from Greater Nanticoke High School concluding at the Luzerne County Community College grounds. Where prizes will be awarded for the Best, Most Patriotic and Most Ethnic Float, live music, craft vendors, food vendors/trucks, basket auction, 50/50 prize, instant Bingos, Moon Bounce Houses and an amazing fireworks display at dusk.
