The Nanticoke Firefighters IAFF Local 2655, Nanticoke City Fire Department both career and volunteer members are proud to partner with United Diagnostic Services, LLC to provide health screenings to our members. Firefighters face increased occupational risks. Early detection improves outcomes and saves lives. These screenings will save lives through early detection and help care for those who take care of our City. According to the American Cancer Society, firefighters are at a significantly higher risk for multiple cancers.

We were one of the first fire departments in the area to have these screenings done back in December of 2023. Many local departments with both career and volunteer members participated with us in 2023. We participated in these screenings again in January of 2026.

The career firefighters have partnered with the City of Nanticoke to provide its career staff with these screenings every two years and the Fireman’s Relief Association to provide it to its volunteer members.

The Municipality of Kingston is pleased to announce that Mayor Jeffrey R. Coslett has appointed Deputy Fire Chief Floyd Young to the position of Fire Chief of the Kingston Forty Fort Fire Department.

Chief Young brings more than three decades of experience, leadership, and dedication to the department and the community it serves. Hired on May 15, 1992, Chief Young has played an instrumental role in the continued growth and evolution of the organization throughout his career.

In 2000, he became the department’s first “Paramedic Coordinator” during the startup of Medic 13, a position now known as Paramedic Captain. He was later promoted to Assistant Chief in 2017 and Deputy Chief in 2022, continuing a long-standing commitment to public service, leadership, and the advancement of fire and EMS operations within the department.

Chief Young’s experience, professionalism, and dedication to the members of the department and the residents of Kingston make him well prepared to lead the organization into its next chapter.

Please join us in congratulating Chief Floyd Young on his appointment as Fire Chief. We wish him continued success as he assumes this important leadership role in service to our community.
