Incident: 58-26-00674
Date: 02/20/2026 0250 Hrs.

Officers on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle, a white in color Kia Soul, in the area of East Union and Meade streets. This vehicle was driving erratically and once the operator observed police, they turned off the lights of the vehicle to avoid detection. Officers followed this vehicle and activated the patrol vehicles lights and siren, the white Kia then fled from police. Officers pursued the Kia which eventually crashed into a pole in the alleyway between East Green Street and East Broad Street in the 100 block. The operator of the vehicle fled on foot thereafter, officers gave chase and eventually apprehended the operator, a 15 year old juvenile male. A search of the juvenile male resulted in finding suspected ma*****na on his person. It was eventually learned the white in color Kia was stolen earlier in the night from the 200 block of East Ridge Street as officers observed the ignition to be tampered with and after making contact with the owner.

The juvenile was charged with motor vehicle theft, receiving stolen property, fleeing from police, evading arrest or detection on foot, reckless endangerment, possession or drugs and drug paraphernalia, and several summary traffic violations.
