🦫✨ Bernadette the Beaver had the BEST time at Back to School Night in Calistoga! 🎒🌊

She chatted with tons of awesome folks about river health, reunited with old friends and partners like COAD, hit the dance floor 💃🦫, and even stopped by to say hi to W***y the Wildcat! 🐾

A huge thank you to UpValley Family Centers for bringing our community together outdoors! 💚 We had a WILD time and were so excited to support as sponsors during this year’s event.

Here’s to growing together, caring for our community, and building bright futures for the next generation. 🌱✨

🌼🐝 Pollinator Week Project Spotlight 🐝🌼

Our second spotlight takes us to 📍Browns Valley Elementary School, where a pollinator garden is growing from the ground up! 🌿✨

A small garden was planted in 2025, and this winter it will expand into a larger native pollinator garden that will provide year-round habitat for pollinators, beneficial insects, birds, and other wildlife. 🦋🐦🌸

More than 500 students have already helped prepare the site by removing invasive plants, installing sheet mulch, and learning about pollinators through this future outdoor classroom. 🌱💚

The garden is still a work in progress, but we're excited to watch it come to life this fall and winter! 🌻✨ We all have a role to play in supporting pollinators and healthy habitats. 💚

Special thanks to: (Add tags: Napa RCD, Monarch Joint Venture, Browns Valley Elementary School teacher Danielle D'Amour, Napa Recycling, Rothur Estate Landscaping, Wildlife Conservation Board, CARCD.)

Agradecimientos especiales a: (Agregar etiquetas: Napa RCD, Monarch Joint Venture, la maestra Danielle D'Amour de Browns Valley Elementary School, Napa Recycling, Rothur Estate Landscaping, Wildlife Conservation Board y CARCD.)

🌿🐝 It's Pollinator Week! 🦋🌼

We're celebrating the birds, bees, bats, butterflies, and beneficial insects that help keep our ecosystems healthy. 💚 This week, we'll be highlighting two local pollinator projects that are making a difference in our community, so stay tuned!

🌻✨ Want to help pollinators thrive? Even small actions at home can make a big impact:

🌼 Plant native flowers
💧 Provide a shallow water source for wildlife
🐝 Leave some natural areas undisturbed, especially during the dormant season (some insects like to hide in stems and soil during the winter!)
🚫 Avoid pesticide and herbicide use
🌸 Choose native plants that bloom throughout the year

📍 Did you know? Pollinators contribute billions of dollars to California agriculture each year by helping pollinate fruits, nuts, vegetables, and seed crops. 🌱🍓🥜🌻

Every flower planted helps support the pollinators that keep our landscapes productive, resilient, and beautiful. 🐝🦋🐦🦇

👉 What's your favorite pollinator to spot in the garden?

☀️ As we welcome summer, we’re celebrating a year of curiosity, discovery, and connection in nature.

Because of our partners and supporters, we helped bring outdoor conservation experiences to students across Napa County:
🌿 1,300+ K–12 students participated
🌿 19 schools engaged in conservation science and stewardship
🌿 4 extra hours of outdoor learning per student
🌿 4.6⭐ average field trip rating from Green Futures students at Valley Oak High School

Some of our favorite moments came from WILD Napa 4th graders:
🐛 “Does an orange and black caterpillar turn into a monarch butterfly?”
🐝 “Will that bee get poison oak?”
🌼 “Flower alert!”
🐜 “Oh—it’s home to ants.”
🌱 “Now this is a cool plant.”

These questions, observations, and moments of wonder are what outdoor education is all about. Thank you for helping us inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. 💚

🤝 This year, we are able to provide opportunities to schools no-cost thanks to donors, grants, and partners including: Lewis Cellars Community Grants, Napa County, Napa County Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program, Innovative Health Solutions, Health and Human Services Agency, Napa County, North Bay Watershed Association , Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission, and a gift from Steve Rasmussen and Felicia Woytak.

This free webinar will take you behind the scenes: see how water moves through the landscape, why this creek is such a rare opportunity, and how the project is helping nature and our communities adapt.

By joining us, you’ll get a closer look at this restoration effort and ways to be part of what’s next.

Join us for the 2026 Climate-Friendly Garden Tour on Sunday, May 17, 10am-4pm!

Explore water-wise gardens, share ideas, and connect with your neighbors doing this work. Plus, learn from local experts in four workshops:

•Napa Firewise- Firewise Landscaping
•UCMG- Soil Health and Avoiding Invasives
•City of Napa & a local landowner- Cash for Grass from a Homeowner Perspective

Last chance for $5 tickets: May 8! Then, tickets are $10 (or pay $10 cash at the door).

Come celebrate the beauty of water-wise spaces, get inspiration for your own water-wise transition, and learn how to make a difference with advice from the experts!

This year's hub is a new spot for us- Aldea Child & Family Services, right downtown! Their water-wise landscaping isn't what they're *usually* known for, but should be celebrated! We'll have friends there with information- like Water Division, and ! It'll be a party!
