The Napa Tree Moose The moose-head shaped growth was part of a large eucalyptus tree that was cut down to make way for a housing development. And it is still being painted!

Up until the end of 2015, the Napa Tree Moose, a well-known local landmark in Napa, California, jutted out of a large tree looking over a vineyard just south of Alston Park. While residing on Dry Creek Road, the moose changed colors constantly. For years, the moose was a canvas visited by many artists who often transformed the moose in the veil of night. Even though no longer located on Dry Creek Road, you can still visit the Napa Tree Moose when you are in the Napa Valley. The moose head was cut off before the tree was felled and now resides in Downtown Joe’s Brewery and Restaurant on Main Street in downtown Napa. Stop by and take your picture standing (or sitting or dancing or whatever) by the moose and post your photo on this page!
