This summer has been full of stormy weather, and today was no different. Here are reminders on how to report downed parkway trees or tree limbs.

* Outages and downed trees can be reported to the City’s Call Center at 630-420-6060. Our system can handle 50 callers at a time, so there may be a wait.

* You can also report downed trees via the Public Works Request Center at https://data.naperville.il.us/pages/request-center.

* For Police and Fire emergencies, always call 911.

The City’s Student Board and Commission Representative program and the KidsMatter – Mayor’s Chief of Staff internship are back for the 2026-2027 school year! These programs give Naperville high school students a chance to participate in City activities, learn about public service and engage with the community. Find a map of recommended viewing and parking locations at www.naperville.il.us/eventinfo and remember:
🚗 Expect traffic delays when arriving and leaving! Lots of people may come to the area want to watch the rescheduled display.
🚗 Avoid distractions while driving. Pay close attention to the increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area.
🚗 Stay vigilant. If you see something illegal or suspicious, call 9-1-1 or notify one of the uniformed officers who will be in the area.

The City of Naperville is seeking input on overnight on-street parking through a brief survey. The results will help inform a staff recommendation to the Transportation Advisory Board and City Council. The survey closes Sept. 18. If your Naperville residence, business or non-profit was impacted by the severe weather on June 10-11, 2026, you may be eligible for a Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loan. North Aurora Road is now open to traffic in both directions.

During the closure, crews completed a major milestone by relocating a petroleum pipeline that will allow the roadway to be widened as part of the long-term improvement project.

Work will continue through the fall with drainage improvements and utility relocations, which may require occasional daytime lane closures. Because of unexpected utility conflicts and additional coordination, some utility work will extend into next year.

Thank you for your patience during the extended closure. We'll share updates about future closures and traffic impacts as more information becomes available.

The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. and wraps up with a FREE family-friendly movie at sunset under the stars!

On Tuesday, 36 neighborhoods have registered to host National Night Out events with plans to enjoy bounce houses, ice cream socials, live music, food trucks, cookouts, kids’ parades and more!
