It's dry season (lol) so I wanted to let you all know this page exists and has members ready to help in the event there is a brush fire requiring immediate assistance.

It appears the Golden Gate Barn Owners page has been archived so we now need a local page for horse owners in Naples. When someone creates one please post it here so those following can join.

Please locate your COGGINS paperwork for your horse if you are potentially going to need help evacuating.

This is a page to allow Naples locals to ask for help and to offer help in case of EMERGENCY ONLY. Other local horse related pages are already available for arranging transportation services. If you NEED help or are OFFERING help please be clear and post your phone number (or some quick method to reach you). If you have horses that need specialized help loading or transporting it's essential you say that in your request so someone new to horses & trailering doesn't show up to help you and create issues for you both.

Here is what you should post in an emergency (you can delete it later) if you NEED HELP:
1) your name (if you are posting for someone else please state that and provide their contact info so multiple transporting volunteers don't head that way unnecessarily)
2) cell #
3) address
4) # horses
5) Issues a volunteer transporter might need
6) where the horses are going (if you know. if you need a place please state that).

If you are Offering HELP in an emergency post:
1) kind of help you're offering (loading / trailering / boarding evacuees)
2) your cell
3) & area of town (ie out in the estates off everglades or in town near exit 107)
4) when you can help
5) the # of horses you can take.

Once a match up has been made PLEASE post it under your request /offer so another volunteer doesn't head your way. Some barns have a huge number of horses and it'll take all of us to evacuate them efficiently and safely.

In past brushfire seasons I understand there have been as many as 120 horses moved in just 2-3 hours. That means people were extremely generous in helping others, easily reachable, and organized so a transporter could make multiple trips quickly and efficiently. Thanks to this we avoided loss of lives.

Please do not use this page for chatting about non emergency evacuation related issues. I posted this page for all to use. I'm not managing it or coordinating anything, no one is, unless during an emergency someone self volunteers to help. It's a self use page. If you're using this page please make up your own mind about who you trust and any situations you put yourselves in.
