May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚

Recently, youth from Youth Haven attended a mental health and wellness event hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, where they participated in activities and conversations focused on mental wellness, resilience, and healthy coping skills.

Supporting mental health is an important part of the trauma-informed care we provide to children and teens every day.

It’s important that our children and teens feel supported — and that means showing up for the moments that matter most.

This season has been filled with teacher conferences, classroom events, sports games, music performances, extracurricular activities, and graduations, and we are incredibly grateful for our team’s commitment to the children and teens we serve.

Pictured are members of our program team attending a middle school-aged shelter youth’s spring orchestra performance, cheering him on from the audience and celebrating his accomplishment.

These meaningful moments help children and teens feel seen, valued, and supported as they heal, grow, and build confidence for the future.

Graduation season is here, and we are excited to celebrate three teens from Rob’s Cottage, Youth Haven’s Homeless Teen Transitional Living Program, who are graduating from high school! Congratulations to these remarkable graduates on their accomplishments!

Drake, who is graduating from Naples High School, has demonstrated tremendous determination while overcoming personal challenges and working toward greater independence. During his time at Rob’s Cottage, he secured a better job and is now focused on purchasing a car, renting an apartment, and beginning technical school.

Kaleah, who is graduating from Ida Baker High School, is described as energetic and kindhearted, with improved grades and goals focused on continued education, employment, and independent living. He participated in track and hopes to pursue a career in nursing. Kaleah has shown positive growth while building a strong foundation for the future.

Kim, who is preparing to graduate from Lorenzo Walker Technical High School, completed the Automotive Technology program while earning honors in both biology and math. During his time in the program, he became more social and confident, demonstrating strong determination and perseverance. Kim hopes to pursue an engineering degree and eventually work in the medical device field.

Through hard work, determination, and support from caring adults, these teens are continuing to rise above their trauma and build brighter futures filled with possibility. We are proud to celebrate these remarkable graduates and all they have accomplished.

Thank you to Voya Financial for recently volunteering on Youth Haven’s therapeutic campus! 🧡

Their team created welcome bags for the children and teens we serve, filled with blankets, activity books, and comfort items, and also helped organize and hang clothing in our boutique.

We’re grateful for their support and for helping create a welcoming environment for the children and teens of Youth Haven.
