A brief Biography and some personal information. Thank you for taking a moment to read my brief bio, I am Rich Cebra. I am happily married for the last 26 years to my wife Philippa, we have 2 great kids and a grandson. Ian our son, who is 25 and is married to Sarah, served in the U.S. Navy, and is currently a Private Military Contractor, they have a little boy, Teddy, my grandson. Rachel our daugh
ter, who is 22, is employed in the accounting department of a company in the Portland area. I am currently enrolled at Liberty University as a full time student studying for my BSc in Religion and Theology. For the last 17 years Philippa and I are the owners of a tourism based seasonal business, Steamboat Landing Mini Golf in Naples. Prior to owning Steamboat Landing I was the Operations Manager for an ESOP computer networking company for 6 years and prior to that I was a self employed project manager and systems technician in the trade show and professional video industry for 6 years. Prior to that I was a truck driver for 3 years. On November 8th, 2016 I was elected to the Maine State Legislature representing Distrcit #68, this is my 5th term in the Maine House. On June 1st, 2015 I was sworn in and I am currently serving as a Selectman, Assessor and Overseer of the Poor in and for the Town of Naples, Maine. On December 1st, 2012 I was elected to the position of Chairman of the Maine Republican Party, I resigned that position July 2nd, 2013. From November 2004 to December 2012 I represented the 101st House District in the Maine State Legislature. (The Towns of Naples, Casco and Poland). I served as the House Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Transportation. I was a member of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government. I served as the Chairman of the House Ethics Committee and I was named to the Joint Select Committee on Joint Rules for the 125th Legislature, I was appointed to the Commission to Reapportion Maine's Congressional Districts in 2012, and the Republican Chairman on the Statewide Redistricting Commission in 2013, I have also served on the Motor Vehicle Advisory Board and the Maine Turnpike Budget Sub-committee. I was appointed to the Transportation Committee of the National Conference of State Legislators. I have been active in referendum campaigns such as opposing The Bear Hunting Ban Referendum in 2004, organizing and supporting The TABOR effort in 2006 as a member of the Center Right Coalition, I spoke at the TABOR Tea party in 2006, I actively supported the citizens repeal of the Beer Wine and Soda tax in 2008, I worked hard supporting the Repeal of LD 1495 (the 102 new Sales taxes) in 2010, I was a member of the 2008 Maine Republican Platform Committee and am a former member of the Maine Republican State Committee and was overwhelmingly elected in 2008 as the Cumberland County Republican Committee Chairman. I was the keynote speaker at the TOGUS National Day of Prayer 2009. I was an invited speaker at the 2008 GOPAC State and Local Summit in Washington DC speaking on Public Private Partnerships in Transportation, the speech was carried on C-SPAN. I spoke at the Family Research Council February 2009 rally in Augusta. I spoke at The Portland Tea party in 2009, and was part of the Stop Obamacare Healthcare Reform Rally in Portland in 2010. In the last 8 years I have written over 70 columns in local newspapers on current topics and issues. I am a former member of the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce. A Charter Member of the Naples Lions Club. I am a former Associate Director of Maine Taxpayers United. I served on the Naples Budget Committee for 5 years until June 2007 (2 years as vice-chairman). I was the Vice Chair of the Naples Comprehensive Plan Update Committee. I am a former member of Naples Main Street, I was a member of the Naples Causeway Bridge Restoration Committee, I am active in the Naples Republican Committee as well as a founder of the Lakes Region Republican Club. I am a former member of the Sebago Lake Angler Association and the Western Maine Fish and Game Club. I am a member of Sportsmans Alliance of Maine and a Life Member of National Rifle Association. I am a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. I am a member of Reformation Anglican Church in Gray, Maine. As a family we support independent local Christian outreach ministries in our communities as well as National and International Christian missions. In my spare time I enjoy shooting, hunting, fishing, camping, biking, gardening, watching the New England Patriots with my family and spending as much time with my wife and kids as possible.
