United Way of Henry County What is United Way? The United Way of Henry County is a locally based volunteer effort to increase the ability of people to care for one another.

To accomplish this mission, volunteers:

1. Raise funds for a wide variety of health and social services;
2. Distribute these funds effectively, based on the community’s needs;
3. Help develop and coordinate health and social programs;
4. Serve as a central resource in planning and providing community-wide services; and
5. Communicate with the public to broaden the understanding and knowledge of h

uman service needs and the resources required to meet those needs. The United Way of Henry County is run by a volunteer board of directors that represent each township and village in the county. Complete authority and responsibility for all decisions and policies governing the United Way of Henry County are entrusted to these directors who represent the citizens of Henry County.

General information

The United Way of Henry County provided funding to 27 different health and human service agencies in 2011 that provide programs and services for the people of Henry County. Additionally the United Way of Henry County provides the following programs: Cancer Care, Imagination Library, Character First!, First Book, Coming Alive, the Greg Hammer Memorial Scholarship, Born Learning, Stuff the Bus, and Community Care.
