🍂 LEAF COLLECTION STARTS OCTOBER 5TH!
Fall is here, and leaf pickup is right around the corner! Weekly leaf collection will run throughout October and November, starting on Monday, October 5th.

Here are the basic rules to make sure your leaves get picked up quickly and safely:

• Where to Put Leaves: Rake leaves directly along the edge of the street.

• Highway SR 19 & US 6 Residents: If you live along SR 19 or US 6, please bag your leaves for pickup to prevent safety hazards on the main roads.

• Keep It Clean: Please make sure your leaf piles contain ONLY leaves—no sticks, branches, or trash mixed in!

• No Alley Pickup: Leaves will not be collected in alleyways or on private roadways.

‼️ FYI Nappanee Residents: INDOT has placed a new traffic signal at the intersection of SR 19 and CR 38 near Wakarusa.

🍂 BRUSH COLLECTION: Weekly Brush Pickup Has Ended

A quick reminder for residents: weekly brush collection has officially ended for the season, and our Street Department team is now focused full-time on leaf collection!

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐭:

• Drop-Off Available: You can still drop off brush at the Street Department garage. (849 E. Wabash Ave)

• Call First: You must call the Street Department ahead of time to schedule your drop-off appointment before bringing items over.

🎄 We’re looking for this year’s official town Christmas tree! If you have (or know of) a beautiful 20–30 foot evergreen, please contact City Hall. The chosen tree will be proudly displayed at the Downtown Pavilion this holiday season!

🚧 ROAD WORK UPDATE:
Here is a quick update on the Walnut St. and Family Fare Dr. reconstruction project!

• Scooter's Coffee Access: Scooter’s Coffee is no longer accessible from U.S. 6. You must now use Walnut Street to reach Scooter's.

• Open During Construction: Scooter’s Coffee and all surrounding strip mall businesses remain OPEN!

• Project Timeline: Work is expected to be finished by the end of next week (weather permitting).

🍂 LEAF COLLECTION BEGINS TODAY!
Weekly leaf collection is officially underway! Crews are out starting today to clear leaf piles throughout the city.

Here are the quick rules to keep in mind:

• Placement: Rake leaves to the street’s edge only—no alleyways or private roads.

• Bagging Required: Leaves along SR 19 & US 6, or set out outside official collection months, must be bagged at the curb.

• Keep It Clear: Piles must contain leaves only. No sticks, rocks, or other garden debris mixed in, as these can damage our equipment.
