Quilt Garden-Nappanee Center The ELC Heritage Collection and Nappanee Center are an official stop on the Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail. www.sewardjohnsonatelier.org

It's our 10th Anniversary
This year’s Quilt Garden pattern, “Crossroads of Nappanee,” portrays two highways intersecting in the center. Those roads are U.S. 6, also known as the Grand Army of the Republic Highway, and S.R. 19. The middle section being the historical community of Nappanee. The larger sections within the big diamond symbolize the unique characteristics
of this progressive community. The garden features three different types of coleus plants and parsley that provides color and will tolerate the hottest days of summer. "There, Now You Can Grow"
The Seward Johnson sculpture that will grace our 2017 garden features a little girl, with a straw hat hanging from her neck and wearing overalls, waters nearby flowers. "There, Now You Can Grow" by Seward Johnson ©1993 The Seward Johnson Atelier, Inc.

After a very noticeable decline over the weekend…we sadly made the decision to take out Dutch Delight.

We have done a few things to remember this gorgeous garden. We are adding Fred’s flowers and seeds (a free little seed library) to the east side of the building and we will be drying and adding marigold seeds harvested out of our garden. 🩵

Thank you to the Nappanee Street department for helping us move our viewing stand out of the way and the use of their truck to dispose of the flowers, the Nappanee water department for blowing out our sprinkler lines and turning off the water, and to the City of Nappanee and the Nappanee Public Library for their continued support. 🌸🌸

Next year is special since it is the 20th year of the Quilt Garden Tour and we can’t wait to bring back a past favorite garden.

Dutch Delight is in its golden years and we’ve been seeing a slight decline in the garden. It has been one of our favorites over the years and we can’t wait to celebrate 20 years of quilt gardens next year!

One of our garden's caretakers captured this great photograph of one of the many monarchs that have been occupying the garden.

Even though our garden is entering its golden years. It's still greatly appreciated by not just people but butterflies and bees as well.

Our quilt garden has been full of butterflies and bees. 🩵🌸🐝

Our alyssum is a literal dream. 😍 It gives off a pleasurable smell when approaching the garden. It also looks like a cloud that you just want to lay on. (PS please don’t lay in the garden). 😉

We know that July is the perfect month for the quilt gardens but we think Dutch Delight has been perfect during all the months so far.

We hope you’re staying hydrated in this heat! We’re keeping Dutch Delight hydrated and keeping the colors popping.
