For the next 7 days, the only things allowed to go up in smoke are our hopes and dreams for cooler days. Not that many will be outside burning anything right now... just in case, PLEASE BE AWARE that there is a burn ban in effect for all unincorporated areas of Bowie County and the City of Nash.

Update: Water service has been restored.

Brief interruption in water service for some customers in the area of Clark Street and New Boston Road due to a repair to a water main. We expect to have water service restored in approximately an hour. We will update as soon as the repair is complete.

Upcoming road closures to be aware of in Nash:

TxDOT reports they will commence work on a stretch of Highway 82 between Kings Hwy and FM 2148 beginning Sunday, July 26th. Lane closures are scheduled for nighttime work between 8 pm and 6 am to allow travel during the day.

Also, the intersection of North Pecan and Hwy 82 will be closed beginning Monday, July 27th for approximately a week while the sidewalk project is completed.

If you travel through these areas, please exercise caution and be watchful for road crews and equipment. We know the process of providing maintenance to highly travelled roads requires a lot of patience and we greatly appreciate your kindness, Texas drivers!

City Secretary, Jennifer Studdard, has been showing out for years, y’all! 16 years to be exact! Jennifer has been handling and accounting for every penny of City finances, acing yearly audits, managing all things Human Resources, and keeping the City Administrator in line (those who know him know that is a TASK!) But IN HER SPARE TIME, she serves in various local organizations dedicated to improving our community. Recognition for her service, attitude, and desire to help has been applauded by Friends for a Cause, Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, and Texarkana Sunrise Rotary Club. Just this morning, the Texarkana Sunrise Rotary Club named her Rotarian of the Year. We couldn’t clap any louder for one of our own choosing to make a difference. Thank you for all you do, Jen!
