Nash Texas Police Department
Some of our sweet Nash kiddos were quarantined on Halloween this year and unfortunately were unable to participate in the trunk or treat.
We hope bringing you all balloons and candy made the night a little better, and we are keeping your entire family in our thoughts and prayers as you all get through this illness.
Nash PD had such a great time participating! If you have any pictures please post them below!!
Nash PD is Paw Patrol ready to give your kiddos lots and lots of candy!!!
Continuing with our felony warrant round-up that we started this week, we would like to take a moment to bring your attention to Lamartez Daishon Grissom Kennedy.
Recently Mr. Kennedy and a friend decided to take a midnight stroll through Nash, and along the way checked nearly every car they came across to see if it was unlocked.
Mr. Kennedy helped himself to many items, but unfortunately for him, a homeowner noticed him in their yard, alerting him to their presence.
This frightened Mr. Kennedy, causing him to attempt to run away. While Mr. Kennedy was running away, he lost control of his pants causing him to stumble and drop his own wallet in the process. We know this because Mr. Kennedy was captured on multiple security cameras over the course of his adventures.
In addition to the recovery of Mr. Kennedy’s own personal items, and additional investigations, it was determined that Mr. Kennedy has been involved in numerous vehicle burglaries over the past few months in Nash.
Mr. Kennedy, you know that we have been trying to reach you to give you an opportunity to do the right thing. At this point we have a warrant for your arrest for Engaging In Organized Criminal Activity.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Lamartez Kennedy, please contact the Nash Police Department at 903-838-0822.
The Nash Police Department is looking forward to setting up our patrol car for this awesome “Drive through Trunk or Treat” event!
Thank you TTPD, and City of Texarkana Parks and Recreation for inviting us to attend!
**Copied from the Texarkana Parks and Recreation page**
The City of Texarkana, Texas Parks & Police Departments will be hosting a drive-thru Trunk or Treat this year at Spring Lake Park from 4-6PM. We will be posting more information soon with a map of the location.
Please call 903-798-3978 to help us pass out candy to the kids. Halloween costumes are encouraged for the volunteers and the trunk or treaters.
Can you help our friends at TTPD out?
If you have seen Porfirio Ruiz Jr. please contact Texarkana, Texas Police!
UPDATE: 10/22/20 at 8:30a - Ruiz was arrested by Border Patrol officers in Brownsville as he attempted to cross into Mexico. Detective Tabitha Smith had alerted them earlier in the week that she thought that he might try that so they were basically waiting on him to show up. He's being held in the Cameron County Jail and will be transported back to Texarkana in the very near future.
We are looking for Porfirio Ruiz, Jr. Can you help us find him? He has a felony warrant for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child.
THESE SUBJECTS ARE NOW IN CUSTODY AT THE BI-STATE JAIL.
Big thanks to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Department and the Texarkana, Texas Police Department for your assistance in locating these subjects, and a special thanks to our citizens for your many calls and tips!
It seems today is the day of felony roundups in Nash, as we are also looking for Ms. Gwendolyn Ruth Block.
Ms. Block is wanted for the felony offense of tampering with a witness.
Last year Ms. Block was caring for an elderly person and used their credit card to steal from them. Ms. Block has taken it upon herself to harass our victim.
If you know where Gwendolyn Block is, please contact the Nash Police Department at 903-838-0822.
If you are Gwendolyn Block and you would like to turn yourself in, we’re located at 119 Elm Street in Nash and would love to see you!
There is nothing quite like leaving work at the end of the day to find your vehicle sparkling clean, and putting trust in others that they will care for your vehicle as if it were their own.
Unfortunately some persons decided to take the “caring as if it were your own” to the next level, and help themselves to a firearm that was found inside of the vehicle.
The Nash Police Department is currently searching for Angela Schobey and Hubert Morine Jr in reference to a Felony Theft that occurred recently. Angela and Hubert, along with another person who has already been taken into custody used a car detailing business to further this crime, and deprive clients who trusted them.
Angela and Hubert, we currently have warrants for your arrest. You have an opportunity to do the right and turn yourselves in to our department. These warrants are not disappearing.
If you know the whereabouts of Angela Schobey or Hubert Morine Jr., please contact the Nash Police Department at 903-838-0822.

DON’T FALL FOR THESE SNEAKY TRICKS THIS OCTOBER!!
We have been receiving reports about some of our citizens waking up to text messages notifiying them that their driver’s license has been compromised.
We want to assure our citizens that this is not real, it is an attempt at a scam, and that DPS does not communicate this way.
Please do not click these links, or call these numbers back, and especially do not give them any access to bank account information.
You can check with DPS regarding your driver’s license at their website: dps.texas.gov . This website and the associated phone numbers found on this website are the correct ways to get in touch with DPS.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 903-838-0822.
Make sure you lock your car doors at night! Most criminals will first test to see if the doors are unlocked prior to attempting a burglary, and as always, please call us if you see anyone suspicious in your neighborhood!
Did you know that Nash officers do a lot more than just respond to calls? For many years our officers have been working with our community at “Shop with a Cop”, National Night Out, Nash Elementary school, and various other organizations! Do you have any stories of how a Nash Officer made a positive impact on your life?
With the season of giving approaching, we would love to feature our officers and their stories within our community.
Nash Police Department is blessed to have created a close, community oriented relationship with our local businesses and our citizens, and we would like to celebrate these moments!
Good morning Nash residents! Please be careful while driving around town this morning! Remember to turn on your lights and drive slowly. We currently have poor visibility on every street in Nash, especially around Proetz Lane, Old Boston Road, Hwy 82, and Atwoods Drive.
However, it’s a beautiful 58 degrees! Perfect weather to sit on your porch and enjoy a warm cup of coffee!
We are 4 days into fall, and it feels great outside!
This weekend Nash Officers were visited by the team at Beyond the Badge of TXK who stopped by to show us some love!
Thank you all so much, it was a joy to arrive at work this week and find a bag full of goodies! The outpouring of love from our community never fails to touch our hearts!
To our followers, please be sure to check out this new organization, and learn about the volunteer work they do within our community, The ArkLaTex is very blessed to have them!
Thank you so much to Texas High School Student Council for your delicious gift basket for the Police and Fire Department!!

The Nash Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remember the events of 9/11/2001, and express our condolences to the families of the thousands of Americans that lost their lives on that horrible day.
On this day, thousands of first responders from numerous agencies answered the call to help, knowing that they may never come home. 412 Fire Fighters, Police Officers, EMTs, and countless other heroes died in selfless service to their community and their country.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that we are canceling our “Nash”ional Night Out community event this year due to Covid-19 risks.
We are already planning our 2021 event, and are excited to look towards the future! We thank every single one of our vendors and our local businesses who have donated so far this year, all funds will go towards next year!
As of 5:30am it appears most of the power has been restored in Nash, and that the outage was mainly for Swepco customers. We appreciate your patience, and extend a huge THANK YOU to the linemen who quickly restored our power while most of you were sleeping! We are also happy to report that there were no accidents as a result of the power outage, and again, thank our citizens and those who travel through our city for keeping safety a priority!
Oh No! It appears that the entire city of Nash is currently without power due to the storm!!
Please be advised that this also includes the traffic lights at New Boston Road and Kings Highway. Please use caution when approaching this intersection, and treat it like a 4-way stop!
Nash officers are currently in the area with patrol car lights activated to encourage drivers to slow down and pay attention.
Please be safe, and leave a comment when your power is restored!
**Edit: We were able to make contact with the solicitors. They were cited for violating the Nash City Ordinance for soliciting without a permit. They have been advised to discontinue. If anyone else is contacted after today, please call Nash PD at 903-838-0822.***
Good Afternoon Everyone!
It has recently been brought to our attention that persons have been walking around Nash attempting to sell home security cameras and other security items. This person DOES NOT have a permit for sale from Nash City Hall.
There is NO SOLICITATION ALLOWED inside the Nash City Limits without a permit.
Our job, as always, is to keep our citizens safe and informed. If you see someone walking through your neighborhoods that doesn’t belong, or if someone approaches your home asking to sell you items without proper City of Nash documentation, please call our department.
Our non-emergency 24 hour line is 903-838-0822.
Y’all get ready! It appears that the storms coming through tomorrow will be severe!
WE JUST RECEIVED WORD THAT NASH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW!
Keep our beautiful state, and our neighbors in Louisiana in your prayers!

Mr. Ferguson is from the Paris, TX/Southeast Oklahoma area. If anyone knows his whereabouts please contact us at 903-838-0822, or email [email protected] .
Mr. Ferguson, if you happen to see this, please give us a call and we’ll be happy to take this post down.
Please be aware Nash residents!
Get Ready... It starts tomorrow.
Crews will begin setting up barricades and construction warning signs along Interstate 30 on Wednesday as a major construction project to widen the roadway begins. Actual construction and some lane closures will begin later this month.
The $88.9 million TxDOT project is expected to take four years to complete. They will be completely reconstructing the highway and widening it from four to six lanes from just west of Kings Highway all the way to Stateline Avenue. They are also adding concrete barriers with safety lighting to divide opposing lanes of traffic.
It's going to be very nice when it is all done, but you should expect that things will likely be difficult for drivers out there for the next few years. We suggest that you start scouting out alternative routes now so you can avoid all the construction headaches.
