🚫🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT – PLEASE READ 🔥🚫

The State of Georgia is currently under a burn ban, and it is being strictly enforced here in Nashville.

Over the past couple days, the Nashville Police Department has issued 3 citations for illegal burning. We want to remind everyone that this is not just a rule, it’s about protecting our community, our property, and our safety.

⚠️ No outdoor burning is allowed at this time.
This includes yard debris, trash, and any open flames that fall under the burn ban guidelines.

Dry conditions and wind can cause fires to spread quickly, putting lives and homes at risk. We are asking for your cooperation to help prevent unnecessary emergencies.

Let’s work together to keep Nashville safe.

At the Nashville Police Department, we see a lot of heroes in uniform, but some of them also carry leashes, treats, and a whole lot of heart. 🐾

This week, we’re giving a big (and well-deserved) shoutout to Animal Control Officer Kayla Lackey.

Kayla is the kind of person who can handle a tough call one minute and win over a scared pup the next. She shows up day after day with patience, compassion, and just the right amount of “don’t test me” energy. Whether she’s wrangling a runaway, rescuing an animal in need, or making sure our community stays safe.

Let’s be honest… not everyone can chase a loose dog, calm a nervous cat, and still have time to make friends along the way, but Kayla always makes it look easy.

Because of her, tails keep wagging, families are reunited, and our community is a better and kinder place.

Kayla, thank you for being the voice for those who don’t have one. For doing it with heart, humor, and grit. We appreciate you more than words can say.

👮‍♂️🍋 Sweet stop on Joiner Ave!

Officer Parrish stopped by Connor’s lemonade stand today on Joiner, and we can confirm, it’s some pretty great lemonade! 😄

We love seeing young entrepreneurs in our community. If you’re in the area, be sure to swing by and support Connor!

With the rise of gas prices we are exploring other patrol options 👀

Just kidding, Officer Kerklin jumped at the chance to saddle up at the Berrien County Rodeo and did a stable job getting the hang of things

He’s still working on reining it in and steering without an adult but we think he will be horsing around in no time 🚔

Officer ‘Wally’ Parrish thought he was just stopping by gymnastics class. He did not realize he’d be attempting flexibility he hasn’t tried since 1968.

If you see him moving a little slower tomorrow, just know he gave it his all.

Ice packs are en route.
