Starting today, much of South and Central Georgia are under a burn ban as we continue to respond to wildfires and deal with ongoing drought conditions.

We're asking all Georgians to do your part in preventing the spread of wildfires as response teams work around the clock to contain those currently blazing.

‼️We need our community’s help!

The Nashville Fire Department has been working diligently to keep Nashville/Berrien County safe. We have received call after call about out of control burns across our city/county that has put pressure on these volunteers that is hard to describe. They answer every call, they complete the tasks at hand and before they finish at one call, another pops off.

We need your help! The county is dry. The conditions are NOT conducive to burn.

We can’t stop someone from burning, we are respectfully requesting that our city/county hold off burning until we get more rain. The situation is dire.

IF you plan on burning, get a permit and be responsible with your burn area. A few people nearly paid a very high price today by their homes nearly catching fire due to out of control burning.

👉🏼This is a call to NASHVILLE/BERRIEN COUNTY residents….PLEASE help us out by not burning right now.

🚨Remember it is ILLEGAL to burn anything except natural vegetation (sticks, leaves, pine cones, grass clippings) when appropriate. 🚨 Please hold off on this until we have received rain!
