⚠️ Tennessee Community Alert: Changes to Kratom & 7-OH Availability ⚠️

Beginning July 1, many Kratom and 7-OH products currently sold throughout Tennessee may no longer be legally available. For individuals who use these substances regularly, this change could lead to withdrawal symptoms and increased risk of turning to unsafe alternatives.

At MHC, we want our community to know that support is here.

If you or someone you love is concerned about withdrawal from Kratom, 7-OH, or other substances, our detox and substance use treatment services can provide safe, medically supported care.

Our team offers compassionate, evidence-based treatment and can connect individuals to the ongoing recovery support they need.

Recovery is possible. It starts with one conversation.

MHC offices will be closed today, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States. It represents freedom, resilience, and progress β€” values we carry into our mission of providing equitable, whole-person care to every individual and family we serve.

While our offices are closed, our crisis services remain open 24/7 for anyone who needs us.

Congratulations to Cynthia Smith, the third graduate of the Coffee County Family Treatment Court!

This milestone means more than a ceremony β€” it represents a parent who fought for their recovery, their family, and their future.

MHC is proud to be a partner in this program, with Brianna Trulick and Jessica Cherry providing dedicated Care Management and Therapy services to participants and their families out of our Manchester office. This program serves parents with open DCS cases where substance use is a factor β€” helping them achieve stable recovery so their children can have a safe, nurturing home.

This year wasn't easy. The program faced significant uncertainty due to federal funding challenges and was temporarily defunded for 48 hours at the start of the fiscal year. Through it all, Brianna, Jessica, and every partner in this program never wavered.

PTSD doesn't always look like flashbacks. Sometimes it looks like this:

➑️ Snapping at the people you love for no clear reason
➑️ Feeling disconnected from your own life
➑️ Avoiding places, people, or conversations that feel unsafe
➑️ Struggling to sleep even when you're exhausted
➑️ Feeling like you have to stay on guard β€” always

Trauma shows up differently for everyone. And it doesn't have to be a war or a single dramatic event. Abuse, loss, accidents, medical crises, childhood experiences, all of it counts.

If any of this sounds familiar, your feelings are valid β€” and support is available. Call 615-743-1555 to start healing.

Rhondria, owner of Beauty Is Pain Studio, donated $250 to MHC Chattanooga after hosting her "Ride for Your Mind" Mental Health Awareness Motorcycle Ride. She researched community mental health partners, chose MHC because our mission resonated with her, and even brought our team t-shirts, bracelets, and stickers to keep the message going.

This is what community looks like. Thank you, Rhondria, and every rider who showed up!

PTSD can affect anyone - veterans, survivors of abuse or violence, first responders, children, and individuals who have experienced trauma in many forms. Healing doesn’t always happen overnight, and no one should feel like they have to navigate it alone.

This National PTSD Awareness Month, we want to remind our community that support is available, treatment works, and recovery is possible. We provide compassionate, whole-person mental health care designed to meet people where they are.

If you or someone you love is struggling, take the first step today. Call 615-743-1555 to connect with services.
