Dream Streets is a registered 501(c)3 with a mission to protect + empower families living in distress Dream Streets is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our mission is to protect and empower individuals living in distress. We provide supplemental groceries and family-strengthening tools. In addition, we foster positive community relations at our physical locations, mobile ministry sites, and the streets we serve in West and North Nashville. When we began our mission in 2013, generational poverty and oppression long plagued neighborhoods in the 40t

h Avenue Clifton corridor of West Nashville. We asked our neighbors, “What do you need?”. We listened with compassion and took action together. We found that genuine relationship, not just another program, transforms people’s lives and communities. We’ve planted roots on forgotten streets in West Nashville for almost ten years, forming a family of dreamers– volunteers, donors, and community members who choose hope over hopelessness. Shoutout to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Women’s Fund for helping women in our housing programs received the support they need to take meaningful steps toward long-term stability!

From July 2025 to June 2026, 71% of women in our Transitional Housing program successfully transitioned into permanent housing. Women participating in our Housing Grant program reduced a combined $12,500 in debt and saved more than $13,000, creating a stronger foundation for their futures!

By investing in staffing, childcare, meals, rent support, and other essential services, barriers were removed so women could focus on achieving their goals.

Thank you to the Women’s Fund for helping empower women and families in our community to dream bigger and build lasting stability.

Volunteer groups help make Summer Days possible, and this week we were grateful to welcome students from Broadmoor Baptist Church in Louisiana!

As part of a service road trip through Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga, these high school students spent the week pouring into our community. From leading crafts and playing basketball to jumping rope with our kids, they helped create a fun and encouraging environment during Summer Days. They also rolled up their sleeves to help clean our North location and care for our garden.

Meet Ashaay, one of our incredible volunteers!

Ashaay first connected with Dream Streets through our food ministry, but quickly found ways to use his passion for financial literacy to serve others. As a student at Montgomery Bell Academy, he led engaging lessons for both our Job Readiness and Aftercare programs, helping adults and kids build practical money management skills through games, activities, and real-world advice.

His heart for serving others and willingness to step up at a young age made a lasting impact. Thank you, Ashaay, for investing in our community!

This past Saturday, we were honored to participate in the EastPoint Neighborhood Kickoff Party and groundbreaking celebration hosted by , a valued sponsor of our Transitional Housing Facility.

As the largest affordable housing development in Tennessee, EastPoint is a major investment in creating a community where families and individuals of all ages can thrive for generations to come.

At Dream Streets, we are committed to helping address Nashville’s housing challenges through our Housing programs, making this project especially meaningful to us. We were grateful for the opportunity to share our work, connect with neighbors and partners, and celebrate this exciting project.

We just celebrated the graduation of our latest Job Readiness cohort!

This group is stepping into exciting new opportunities from CDL training and full time work at Save-a-lot to welding. We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance each of them has shown throughout this journey.

Did you know that Dream Streets hosts 2 foodsites on Sunday that are not listed? One of them is specifically for single moms and, our longtime volunteer Jenniver Strange has faithfully driven the truck to Trader joes and picked up the food for distribution for almost a decade!

We have had the joy of watching her raise a daughter into a young woman. Jen finished her masters while working 2-3 jobs and organized our moms group for years. One of our favorite memories of Jen is when she burned the queso it was years before we let her live it down!

We love Jen and what she stands for as a mom, a volunteer, a social worker and in my opinion a woman of influence!
