Find of the day (it was a slow day) some horse tack in a spot I've been waiting to detect for awhile - only by the time I checked it out again the new strip mall already has an "opening soon" sign and tons of rock are dumped for the new parking lot! At least I was able to detect a few piles of original dirt near the sidewalks. These days as soon as the For Sale sign disappears a new building appears, gotta be quick! Not found along the Nashville & Northwestern Railroad but I thought I'd share anyway.

In August of 1864 the 1st Missouri Engineers were relieved, Gen. Sherman called for exclusive military use of the Nashville & Northwestern Railroad and Michael Burns, President of the railroad, again requested possession of the road. At the time many shareholders were accused of being disloyal.
